Uncle was back in mostly blue today, I bumped up his +2 meal with carbs to slow him down but he still got to green at +7.
In other news, my non-DB cat who has had rapid breathing and awful coughing fits just got diagnosed as having both round worm and lung worm. Vet wants me to treat her, Carlos the dog and Uncle for both worms using Panacur C. Apparently the round worm treatment with Panacur is only 3 days, but I think she said 21 days of it to treat the lung worm and of course most cats don't like the taste of it :(

Nice cycle today, Uncle, but as Chris said, you seem to have gotten a bit off track tonight. Back to the straight and narrow, please!

Bummer about the worms. Does your civvie go outside? I'm just curious how a cat that isn't feral or a stray could get worms. I know it's possible from eating mice and such...

My other cat was given to me by a woman who had to move into a homeless shelter and could not bring her with her. Don't get me started on this, I cry every time I think about it, crying now...
Anyway, she is indoor/outdoor and my neighbors have chickens. I think the chicken food attracts rats and she basically hangs out waiting to catch them. She probably got the lung worm from eating them. Disgusting but rather natural:eek:
I'm actually happy to have a clear diagnosis. The other dx option was vague "allergies" that the Western vet would want to use steroids to treat!

Yuck on the worms! When they migrate to the lungs it isn't fun. Bubba vomited up a live tape once. It was like a segmented pasta noodle scooting around on the floor. Luckily he vomited it in front of me so I knew there was a problem. HOpe you can get the meds into everyone. The dog probably won't be a problem but the cats........

Yes, yuck on the parasitic worms. I know they have there probably have their place in the cycle of life but hoo-wee, I never want to see them if I don't have to! :stop::stop::stop::stop::stop::stop::stop::stop:
