I shouldn't speak it, but hopefully she's setting back into the groove after all the disruption that was caused by the dental and dose adjustments. 1.25U was just starting to work nicely for her before all that chaos, so all fingers and paws are crossed over here!

Need a little help, please, to make sure I'm doing the right stuff. This 51 is the lowest Trix has gone. She hit 55 before, but that was much later in the cycle.

I have a feeling this drop is stress-induced. We had her dental follow-up at the vet this evening. Her extractions are healing beautifully! The last time she went to the vet (pre-dental exam), she also dropped, although not quite as dramatically.

I fed her a little LC with grave at +2, then I went with straight up gravy at this +2.5.
Does that sound OK? Should I do anything differently?
Should I consider a decrease for tomorrow?

Technically, Trixie doesn't earn the decrease until she drops below 50. I do think, though, you're OK to take the dose reduction since it's early in the cycle and it's pretty much skating on the edge of earning that decrease. What would you think of dropping the dose back to the fat 1.0u?

I'm good with attempting that reduction. I'm pretty sure that if I held back on the gravy, she'd hit the magical "50", but admittedly it does make me a bit nervous. F1.0 coming up in the AM!

Should I stay on the path I'm on - test every half hour, feed if necessary?

Keep doing what you're doing. Remember the info in the handling low numbers note. You're going great!! If you can keep Trixie surfing in the 50 - 60 range (or any green, for that matter) that would be perfect.

Thanks for the reassurance and support! I was prepared when I saw the 63...a little more surprised when I saw the 51. But this is getting easier!!

You're doing great!! Just remember that numbers can wobble around as the HC wears off.

Thanks, Sienne! I was giving her just a dollup of gravy-n-LC when she was in the 60s; that seems to keep her steady. She popped up to 72 for her +4, so I'm holding off on the food for now. We'll see what +4.5 has to say!
