Good Monday Morning Everyone,

Stu had a good night (pounded a few times, of course). His bg was 111 when we went to bed and it was only 228 this morning. So whatever he did last night he didn't bounce too high. He enjoyed his breakfast (in 2 installments; By Nature 95% turkey & turkey liver--his favorite at the moment), made his lb contributions, went outside and contributed some more. While outside he started to excitedly dig in the ground, jumping and pouncing. I think there may have been a mole underneath that spot (we have seen signs of lots of mole activity). In any event, Stu had an energetic "play". When he came in his +2 was 253. I interpret this number to be essentially in the same range as his AMPS and that the AM shot of insulin will begin to kick in about now. We'll see!
It's a beautiful morning here, but apparently we are going to have a winter storm late tomorrow and into Wednesday, with more than 2 inches of snow predicted!! Winter-storm warnings are already up.
All beans enjoy Monday and all cats start making preparations for the Full Moon shindig.

Nice yellows for Stu....
hey...that is NOT fair ---a snow storm in late April??? Oh NOOooooooo!!! :o Can we put in a complaint to someone somewhere....it is just is NOT right....

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253

Het Stu, going the wrong way! C'mon, you look much better in blue. Good luck on the mole hunt, at least they aren't gophers.

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209

Was he doing the sort of leg locked awkward jumping that I see my cats do all the time when they get excited? The kind that really makes you wonder how they could ever catch food in the wild?

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209

Wow, life sounds so fun for them, doesn't it? Boomer has never been outside in his life. But I know him. If he ever went out he'd love it and drive me crazy whining to go out. Then I'd worry non-stop.

Is Stu cooking anything for the full moon party? Seems like he's always offering to cook stuff, so I'm just wondering. He can come to my house and cook for me anytime!

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209

There you go Stu, going down is good! Moonie is an indoor cat who was outside for 1st 6 mths of her young life--Now she is safe & happy & neither one of them go Near the Door!! They feel safe right here..
Stu, sounds like you are and active boy, ruggedly handsome, and outdoorsman!! That turns Moonie on! So dont talk about it much, she's very quiet today    --She's in rain mode!
Looking nice coming down there--Surprise us-OK?? HUGS~!!!Have a great day!

Snow? Yikes.

I love hearing how Stu was going after the mole, it's so much fun for kitties. Especially since Stu didn't really need the mole for a meal, it was play time. (Sorry Mr. Mole.) Sounds like a happy kitty!

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209

Such a cute story about Stu and the mole. :) It sounds like he's had a good morning, and his numbers show that. Keep on comin' down, Stu.

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209, +6 241

Well, numbers are not exactly coming down! Another flat yellow day, so it seems. I don't know how to interpret this "curve". Will test again at +9 or thereabouts.

330 at +9!! I don't know what's happening here. I don't think I gave a fur shot this morning. The Lantus cartridge is on Day 25 and looks OK. Maybe it got bad on the trip to NY. I think I'll get another from the pharmacy tonight. What a weird day of numbers!

Yoooo hoooo Stu.... what are you doing kittycat?
If Stu didn't get into illegal food, it might just be bounce.... let's see what he does next, but there isn't really a need for a full out pokefest until PMPS.....

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209, +6 241, +9 330!!!

How did you have the insulin stored during your travels? It may have gotten too warm, too cold, or shaken. On the other hand, Stu occasionally has some pink numbers.

Hey Stu pink is not a boy color lets come on back down to yellow or better yet blue

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +2 253, +4.5 209, +6 241, +9 330!!!

Ella, I'm so sorry for your frustration. I hope Stu is listening and gets with the program. Mama bean wants blue & green!

Re: 4/26 Stu AMPS 228, +6 241, +9 330!!!, PMPS 281

Interesting that Stu came down at PMPS. But I opened a new cartridge anyway. Decided that at least that variable could be controlled (Stu, being a cat, decides for himself and therefore is a wild card!). Here's the recap. of today:
AMPS 228
+2 253
+4.5 209
+6 241
+9.25 330 (!)
PMPS 281
+4 276

So a flat yellow until +9, when there was a big spike, and then down 50 points at PMPS. Can't wait to see what happens next! Stu has been full of energy all day and loudly demanding more food. What a great cat!!

Ella

P.S. Handling the insulin while on car trips: I wrap the cartridge in bubble wrap and then put it in a small cardboard box and a paper bag. It goes in a small cooler with our food and 3 cold packs. It is always still cold when we arrive, and well protected from bumps. But, of course, it probably does get road vibrations. We have a good 'fridge in NYC and I put a thermometer right next to the insulin. It's always in the "safe" zone.
