Hello everyone!

Wow, it has been a long week. I haven't posted since 4/18 and I must say I really missed you guys. Well, my computer is finally up and working, so here am I. I haven't shot Billy for 8 days. Here's a recap of what happened :

4/18 AMBG 83 PMBG 79
4/19 AMBG 77 PMBG 77
4/20 AMBG 104 PMBG 70
4/21 AMBG 90 PMBG 61
4/22 AMBG 58 PMBG 77
4/23 AMBG 95 PMBG 94
4/24 AMBG 101 PMBG 83
4/25 AMBG 83 PMBG 81

On the 20th, Billy wasn't shot because DGF was taking care of him and she thought any number below 6 was good. Her cats arrived at the new apartment on the 22nd, and the 23rd was definitely a stressful day for Billy. He made the blue team so slightly on the 24th that I didn't shoot.

Today
AMBG 106
+3 85

Now I don't know what to do. Should I shoot this number? I am returning to Sherbrooke at 11 am and will be there until tomorrow morning. DGF will only be able to test him around 8 or 9 pm, depending on when she arrives here. I am a bit scared about it because if he ever goes low, I won't be around. That, and I have no idea of what his cycles have been like.

And if I should shoot... How much do I give him? It has been 9 days since he last had his "usual dose" of 1.75u, then I gave him a BCS of 1.50u and then he didn't get any for 8 days. I am a bit at loss here.

In other news, the apartment is great and the cats seem to get used to each other.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. :-D Have a nice day, LL!

ETA : I forgot to link Billy's last condo.

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106 Advice?

Hi Manouk,
I'm so glad that your move went well and that the kitties are getting used to one another. Wait for advice on dose amount (or whether or not to shoot) from one of the really knowledgeable people. But if Billy were my cat and if I had the schedule you have today, I would not give a shot this morning.

Enjoy your new apartment and your new life in Montreal,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106 Advice?

Wow! If Billy was my kitty and he had these numbers for 8 days, I wouldn't shoot. Keep on going with this experiment. If he starts to creep back up with his numbers, you may need to shoot again... maybe by that time your location and schedule will be more regular.

But because of your complicated routine at the moment, I'd wait. He is doing really well at the moment.

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106 Advice?

I agree with CD, Billy is doing quite well at the moment! :-D If you are not going to be able to monitor, I wouldn't shoot this morning after no insulin for 8 days. I would feed him and test again before you leave.

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106 Advice?

I just wanted to stop by and say Good Morning!! Your kitties are beautiful. I hope you have a great day!

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106

Thanks for the advice, everyone! No shooting it is. Well, I'm off to give him food. I'll have to interrupt that intense staring contest he and Bella are having.

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106 Advice?

Wow! Those are beautiful numbers for a kitty not getting any insulin....I don't think I'd shoot. Glad the move went well and all kitties are getting along. With all the changes in Billy's life (the move, new kitties) and he is keeping those numbers - that is just wonderful! cat_pet_icon

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106

I agree with CD and Laurie. Give some food and see if the numbers come down. These are great numbers especially with the stress of a new territory and new kitties.

Re: 4/26 Billy AMBG 106

Hi guys, nice to see you back .. glad the move went well and the kitties all seem adjusted to their new home/siblings ... looks like you got some good advice here and I will agree, those are some nice looking numbers .. have a great day guys!

Very nice! I'm glad you could get a test before you left...and it's a good number, yay!

Very impressive, as Sienne said...especially with the stress of moving, new kitties, etc! :-D

WOW!!! I agree with everyone else - I wouldn't shoot. With all that is going on on the home front, and still he has great numbers without insulin. HOORAY! :-D :-D :-D This is so exciting!

GO BILLY!
