Yesterday's Condo

Shadow was on alert this morning. he seemed to be waiting anxiously for his shot and when I finally hat the syringe all prepared, he jumped right up on the testing towel and laid down. My goodness, I never would have believed THAT last August when they told me I had to inject insulin! He acts as if he knows that it is helping him and he never balks at the testing or the shots.

Starting off the day in a very nice blue...why does he DO that? Threaten an increase and they make fools out of us, right? :lol: So, I smiled when I saw the number and decided to give the 1.50u some more time. I set the alarms last night and have no idea what happened. I bolted up at 4:45 which was way late for anything and I am really getting upset. I have an idea: maybe I will set them earlier on in the day. I was so careful too. :YMSIGH: Guess I wasn't careful enough.!! I am getting very weary with this waking up so much at night. I wanted to really see what he was doing during the cycles...His nadir used to be at +8 but it doesn't seem to be that any longer. Does this happen to some kitties?

The party was a lot of fun last night...so happy that everyone came! Moses stayed pretty late helping with the clean-up~such a great guy!!Well, they are ALL wonderful and I love each and everyone of them!! They all hugged me goodbye...so much fun having them here!! They are all looking forward to the Full Moon Party at Caryl & Alex's.

You couldnt possibly do a better job than you are doing!! You are giving this your all, and Shadow is doing GREAT!! Look at this nice blue today! Yes, sometimes they do change their nadirs, which is why you are up so much at night--I feel for you, I cant wake up at night, I'd never get back to sleep. @-)
I find my kits eat the most at night, & those plates they always clean off..not so much during the day!--
Hope you can get your routine down better for yourself!! And please girl, get some sleep!!

Beautiful amps! That party was just what was needed :smile: Tugger had a great time, came home and went right to bed but he was up early and full of energy this morning!

I think Tugger knows the shots and tests are all part of what is helping him feel better. He argued with me about it early on, but then suddenly he was following me to the kitchen and assuming the position (he flops over on his side) 40 times a day! I had to explain to him that he only needs the shots two times a day but we can poke his ear as many times a day as he wants ;-) He also figured out pretty quickly that if he wants food we have to poke the ear. No test = no foods and that is just not acceptable, so he flops for tests now too :lol: If I walk into the kitchen and the bowls are empty you can be sure Tugger is three steps ahead of me, flopping on his side and yelling at me to hurry up and poke so I can feed.

There have been a rash of faulty alarms this weekend it seems, I think we should contact someone about that. Thank goodness the kitties all have built in alarms (empty food bowls) and know how to wake their beans. (Tried to stick it in here but wasn't sure how to embed on this board)

Hey Shad-0! How'd you get such a great number this morning?? What's the secret?? Fabulous party last night. Please tell Raja how pretty she looked and how much I enjoyed dancing the cha cha with her. Oh, and thank Pat, too, for having us all over. We had a ball!

Shadow is looking good this morning, and evn the hangover from the party is not affecting his #'s. :-D I'd say this calls for more parties.

No luck with the nighttime checks; we were both too wiped out!

Hi again, Pat. Yes, I also think it's the texture of the By Nature Organic Chicken & Turkey that puts them off: it's too much like paté!! Try the 95% Turkey & Turkey liver. Stu really likes that one and the texture is much more "textured".

Nice AMPS #.. way to go, you know how the kitties are .. constantly switching it up on us for sure!! I agree, it is amazing how well they adapt to all the poking & shooting. It sure does make you tired, sleeping here & there... I know what you mean. I hope Shadow has a pleasant day planned for you ;-)

Good morning, Pat and Shadow! Buzz sends her apologies for missing the party. She was having quite the exciting night here at home. She wants Shadow to know that she thinks he is an excellent dancer as well and she thanks him for the dances at the last party. She will be at the next one for sure and hopes they can dance under the moonlight again.

I don't blame you for being exhausted. Do you think there are at least some nights you could get some more sleep and test a little less? As has been pointed out, his numbers are important but so are you and your well-being. Don't test yourself into a stupor and then not be able to stay awake if he really needs you to. :smile: You do a wonderful job, that is for certain.

Marvie, I loved that cartoon! Thanks for sharing.

Morning! What the heck happened this morning Shadow?? Too many catini's last night? Hope you get some better numbers!! Scrabble's nadir was always changing so I had a hard time figuring out when it was too. That is cool that Shadow doesn't mind her shots, that is the hardest part of this whole disease for me is the shots because Scrabble didn't like them too much. Thanks so much for the wonderful party last night, Scrabble puked when he got home so he must have had fun, lol!!!!! Have a great Sunday!!

Hi Pat,

I know what happened to your alarm last night. You were up to late at the party, checking in and giving us a report. So you have an excuse. :lol:

I remember thinking also how was I going to give Sara shots in the begining of this. Now its so routine that once I actually took her # and forgot to give her the shot. I realized it 15 mins late. Its just so uneventful that I was thinking of other things and just spaced it. :oops:

Glad Shadow is easy for you too.

Thanks for hosting the party. Sara had such a good time, that we decided to just lay back today and rest. [no condo] It had been raining all day and it just seemed right. But she did'nt get out of the pokies though. :-D

apparently Shadow didn't understand that if you want to throw good numbers to get out of a dose increase, that you actually have to *maintain* the good numbers too.

Oh no, Shadow! Are you having a creeper hangover from too many niptinis? If you don't know (but I'm sure you do since you are such a party boy) a creeper is when you wake up and feel fine, then start to feel worse as the day goes on. ;-)

Pat, I hope he comes back down for PMPS tonight! Keeping fingers crossed here.

He really sucked me into a false sense of security withe that blue start. Hoodwinked! Darn it! He is not all that tired from the party. he is ready for another one. They are napping but it's gray today and who needs to do anything on a day like this! just lay around watching the numbers going up.
I'm outta here. Got to go to Target. Get some air. Guess he should get an increase, right? Thoughts?
 
I would increase, I don't think it will take long to get him back into green again. Getting him to stay there seems a little trickier, but we'll figure it out one of these days.
 
Hey Shad-0! I got my increase, so it's cool that you'll get one too. We high bouncers have to stick together! As they keep saying: get with the program, man!
