Good Morning Everyone,

Well, we're still in the Adirondacks. Our basement "lake" is much worse this morning and the weather forecast is for heavy rain starting tonight and continuing for 2 days. The region is under a flood watch. So we cancelled our trip to NYC. Disappointing to say the least, but being able to bail out the cellar is more important! Fortunately I was able to reschedule a dr. appt. for the next time we will be in NY.

Rusty is a bit bewildered, because we had everything packed up and ready to put into the car and then we unpacked it all!! He was up and down from the bed all night (he was anxious about the trip). So now we have to get him back to his normal shot schedule, having moved it because of the early curtain at the opera! He ate breakfast with gusto and got himself ready for the trip by making good lb contributions. Anyway, no fur shot today and hopefully he'll be back in Rusty numbers soon.

Everyone have a good day. We are wishing good wishes for all our sick kitties, Copper especially.

Sorry you had to cancel the NYC trip - especially because of more rain! I hope it all clears up and drys up soon for you.

Not a terrible AMPS for Rusty, but definitely not his pretty greens....hopefully they will be back quickly.

Morning Ella - I am so sorry you had to postpone your trip - I know how much you were looking forward to the Opera. what a bummer. also very sorry on your cellar. That is such an ordeal. I hope you will be ale to keep on top of it all.... it is so exhausting. I hope that the flooding does not happen. We have that happen here alot too.... the valleys always flood, every spring, and fall.

And oh Rusty... a tad bit confused about going and then not going... I can see the wheels turning. It's OK Rusty - back to your radiator perch, and all will be well. Now you can focus on getting back to those nice greens you always do so well!

Rusty - dude! bummer on the big city trip, but I moved the date on my kitty calendar. so... you wanna escape all that water and hangout someplace? See you!! ~ Mannie

Glad you decided to stay home & save your house!! Rusty is just stressed because of the change of plans--Hope he will come back down today! Better to be safe than sorry! Hugs from Us!

Hi guys .. not a bad start to the day for rusty .. but I know he can bring that down too .. sorry to hear about the canceled trip to NYC .. but staying home and taking care of the water is probably a good idea .. have a great day guys!

Hi again, it's not raining yet, and Rusty had a great time in the garden this morning. Edward took the straw bales off his garlic plants and Rusty "helped". He also watched birds and wandered around, exploring, sniffing, jumping on the rocks, etc. I did some bailing in the cellar and followed Rusty around outside.

He's coming down from the back-to-back fur shots and hopefully will be "normal" by this evening.

Yes, not going to Die Walküre is a downer. But fortunately it is going to be on the Met live in HD movie theatres on May 14th. The box-office lady said, when I called to turn in the tickets, that people had been trying to buy tickets for it for the last 4 months. We have a "mini series", purchased because Walküre was on it.

Off now to do another bail in the cellar.

Hi Ella. I'm just calling to thank you for the heads-up. I took your storm warning seriously, and went out to do some kitty food stocking up. Man, he/they go through those little cans quickly.
I wasn't home for half hour, when the rains came.....and rain it did!
Now there is 'flood warnings' on TV.
I hope you're making some headway with the celler.

I did it again: possibly another fur shot!!! Ever since I stuck Rusty badly 2 days ago, he is super-antsy about his shots (before he was just plain antsy). He stops eating and tries to pull away while I have the needle in. This is a problem I never anticipated (hardly ever had trouble giving Stu his shots). I hope it was just a partial fur shot, but I smelled insulin and fear that it was the real thing.

Awww Ella, I hate that. Checks pulls away from me too sometimes. Rusty is doing so well, this is just a little bump in his road.
 
Yep, another fur shot this evening. I am totally losing it and Rusty is hating his shots. Thanks Barb and Ronnie for the pep talks!!!

p.s. forgot to mention the 2 hairballs tonight (not gigantica, but very dense; he's got to be more comfortable now!!)
 
I think you should go with Queen of the Fur Shots. It has a much nicer ring. :-D :-D Would Rusty sit in your lap to do the shot? I tried getting Willie while he was eating at first, but he was just too squirmy, so we sit the food on the arm of the sofa while he gets his shot... reminder of what is to come if he is a good boy and sits still!

So sorry the Met trip is cancelled! Just noticed it is raining again here. Am thankful I don't have to deal with a basement right now! Hope the water removal efforts continue to go okay, and hope Rusty gets another day outside tomorrow!
 
Hi you guys -- getting rid of the hair balls should help a lot. Rusty's ## still look pretty good to us. Here's hoping for a easy shot next time. Take care.
