yesterdays' whopper of a dive and bounce: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=69462

Yesterdays numbers:
AMPS 428.4
+1.5 273.6
+2.5 138.6
+3 70.2
+3.5 55.8
+4 45
+5 160.2
+6.5 167.4
PMPS 484.2
+2 433.8

I guess it was a perfect curve! just a tad on the dramatic side as per usual Sigh. Am surprised at the pink this morning, was expecting red. Also surprised but pleased that he's come down at +2 in a far more sedate fashion, only 20pts an hour instead of the 100+ yesterday!

He was hungry this morning, active, vocal. Ate most of his breakfast, coat loks good, eyes elear, bossy. Weighed him and he's gained about a pound (.6 of a kg). He looks good for it. Seems unphased by the high numbers (once again making me wonder if 'self generated' high numbers feel different from too much sugar from outside world numbers because when he's high for a while due to not enough insulin he looks ragged, but when he's high like this from a massive bounce he seems not that bothered?)

He's sleeping in the primo spot on the couch. Weather is miserable and drizzly today (dismal seepage is what we call it here in the PNW!). Hope he clears this bounce and gets back to business. Also hope he quits bouncing all together. Getting really confused and frustrated and wondering if I shouldn't be thinking about a switch to Lev.

Re: 4/25 Rupert AMPS 367, +2 327

Hi guys .. no advice from me on making the switch to lev .. but I do know what it's like to wait out these bounces so I feel for ya .. Hoping rupert decides to come down nice and easy today with no bouncing! Have a great day guys!

thanx Peter, you are always so sweet and encouraging! Did you have a super bouncy kitty? I'm hoping to hear success stories from people who had excessively bouncy kitties. I'm hoping Rupert's constant bouncing isn't a sign that he doesn't stand a chance of ever going off the juice. Some days I just wonder if I'm screwing up the shot? second guessing as usual.

+6 and a yellow.. in a much more civilized and sedate fashion. I"m actually happy and surprised to see the yellow, was expecting at least another pink. I"m expecting pink for PMPS though. Guess we'll see. Glad to see that maybe he's clearing this massive bounce. Fingers crossed.

Nice slide down into the yellows today! I hope he has decided to put the brakes on and maybe get off the trampoline. Hope you have a great day Pip!

That's an interesting question, Pip. Checkers almost always feels good and happy, when his numbers are alarmingly high to me.
My DD has remarked many times, that maybe that's *his* normal. He may think so, but Mama ain't happy about anything above the blue floor!
So maybe he just isn't bothered by a bounce?
I'd be interested to hear others' views.

Re: 4/25 Rupert AMPS 367, +2 327,+6 248, PMPS 358

pretty flat day for Mr. Rupert, started pink, touch of yellow and back to pink. Wonder what colours he'll choose to explore tonight!

Re: 4/25 Rupert PMPS 358,+2 352

hm, really flat tonight, +2 and 352, no change from PMPS. course my brain starts wondering about all sorts, fur shot? not enough? still recovering from massive bounce? I think it's good that he's not diving. I think my goal for him is to get him to surf LOW pink or high yellow for a day or two and then ease on down. He needs to stay a while on each floor so his body can get used to the lower numbers.. I think? who knows. He's quite the mystery bouncy cat.

He' sitting on the deck listening to all the robins going frantic because the Barred Owls are out and about, tons of noise out there, and some beautiful owls sitting in the trees! Hopefully tomorrow we'll see a bit more slow action. easy does it.

nice little dip into the yellow at +4, and slowly too which is a change! Hopefully he slides a little further to lower yellows and holds it thru the night!

Have a good night everyone!!!

Good boy Rupert. Maybe you are learning to flatten out a little and give your bean some sleep tonight. It looks like you are easing into this dose nicely.
