Morning:coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

Yesterday's Back from the falls
149@ +11
168@ amps
198@ +2

Last night he dropped to 112, which was promising, not too happy with his numbers this morning.
He had another funny turn this morning in bed, but on the plus side he happily ate all of his breakfast.

The BW results are back, Lab reports mild non-regenerative anaemia. Kidney and liver values are good, as is SMDA (10)

Vet is still at a loss at to what is wrong, doesn't suspect infection (BW is indicative of infection).
I'm looking into supplementing with Bvitamin complex for the anaemia, what brands do you guys use?

Vines and prayers for those in need of them.

I hope George won't need to be on insulin very long. Hopefully you can find a good plan to help him. Sending prayers.

According to Tanya's site, the Jarrow formula has changed and now has Phosphorus. I'm reluctant to add P to the diet.

Jarrow's B-Right

B-Right.jpg
Jarrow's B-Right has been a popular choice on Tanya's CKD Support Group because it contains all the B vitamins including B9 (folic acid), and some B12 in the favouredmethylcobalamin form. It is also widely available.

Unfortunately the product was reformulated in 2016 to include calcium phosphate, so it contains 28mg of phosphorus in a human dose (2.8 mg in a cat-sized dose). Members of my group have been shopping around and have managed to find the old formulation in some stores with expiry dates of 2018, so you may also be able to find the product locally. Other members are prepared to use the new formulation.

PMPS 132
am cycle was ended up being a bit better than I feared when I saw his +2 of 198. I was happy he came down. Maybe he was still feeling iffy after his funny turn in the morning just before PS.

He's been eating all his food, still raising his bowl for him and adding tuna toppers to the Terra Faelis (this food isn't stinky so he's been refusing it without a topping), he's happy to eat his other fuds without the topper.

Jarrow Formulas B-right Complex
Thinking about it it's such a small amount I'm ordering some for him anyway.

I too used the Jarrow's B-Right. I had scored some before they changed the formula and at 1/10 of a cap, it lasts a long time.

I'm glad he's eating better number. Here's hoping he keeps sliding down. Make this a short stay George.:bighug:

He's listened to Auntie Wendy, 118@+1.25
No food bump usually meant action for BFG we'll see what it means this time round, he's happily eaten a couple of tsp of his regular LC 4.9%.
I'll check him again at +2 hope he's not forgotten how to hop on his surf board.

Second time around, kitties often have different patterns. Just cause, they don't like to be predictable. :cat:
Indeed, that's why just the LC tonight, first time round I might have been reaching for the MC with a drop at +1 and coming into PS with a flat blue.

LOL the one thing that we can predict is that they will follow their rule book and be Unpredictable.:p
More vines for George! Sorry I didn't see today's condo and replied in yesterday's about positional vertigo.
No worries Ella, I did the same earlier:confused:

I have occasional positional vertigo that began after I hit my head on the pavement during a fall in a running race. It was explained to me that 1 or 2 of the otoconia were rolling around, causing the vertigo. I learned to control it by not putting my head in the positions that made me dizzy. The accident was in 1985 and I still have to be mindful! When I'm in one of my vertigo phases (I get about one a year now), I just have to be careful. (not something you could explain to a cat!)
If it is positional vertigo, I hope that our Deputy George will be able to work his way out of it. If it is caused by the congestion, I believe there are meds that can address it, especially since it came on so quickly.

Sending lots and lots of healing vines for George and :bighug::bighug::bighug:s for you,

Vet is not keen, or doesn't know what to prescribe. Thankfully he's been ok all of today just the one episode this morning. Just so long as it doesn't keep him from the lagoon.

Thanks for the vines.

If George is still congested, Cerenia can help with that due to it's anti - inflammatory effects. It might help with whatever seems to be going on with the middle/inner ear as well, assuming it's all related. Just a thought.

Thanks it's worth a try. I didn't know it had anti inflammatory properties. I'm guessing we can get that here I'll speak to my vet tomorrow see if she can prescribe some.

If your vet is a member of VIN, s/he can look it up there for more info.

I have a client with 6 chronic snuffly cats and it really helped them.

Is it multi lingual?? International? I'm in Spain. There's probably something equivalent over here.

She's pretty amenable, just not very used to dealing with cats, George was her first feline Px and also her first FD kitty. I'm going to try and get another Vet who I've used before (he's an hour away) when a kitty I found needed surgery, he's done a lot of work with rescue cats and may have more experience.

At the moment she was pretty stumped by the BW, thought it was going to show infection, failing kidneys, IDEXX lab report came back with decent Kidney values, SDMA of 10, no signs of infection but the report states mild non regenerative anaemia.
IDEXX Report in case you are curious, but don't feel you have to comment.

Thanks for stopping by

It is based in the US, and is English-speaking, but I've seen vets from all over the world on the site,so it's available internationally.

Oh boy, that's a lot of pressure for someone not familiar with cats! Not a bad idea to consult with another vet.

I'll try to take a look at the report, but I'm sure I'll have much to add. :)

In my local area folk are not in the habit of taking care to the vet. They're second class citizens in the world of pets.
It's slowly changing. In the 6 years I've been going there I've only seen two other cats. Most patients are dogs.

Shes always keen to learn new things, I can give her the link. Thanks for that.
