Good evening LL

Jetta had her Vetty visit at +9 today, so to say I was shocked by her PMPS would be an understatement. But she's eating well today so I shot it  let the games begin!!

The vet visit went well. The Dr didn't feel anything abnormal in her abdomen. Jetta does need a dental nailbite_smile I need to give that some thought. I got some Metronidazole to have on hand for when she seems to be having an IBD flare or the start of pancreatitis. Her full bloodwork will be back tomorrow so I'll know more then. And...on the fructosamine issue...they did run it. Antech lab has a diabetic profile that includes a full chem screen, urinalysis, pancreatitis indicator, and the fructosamine. So I could've opted for the pancreatitis test and chem screen and paid more that what I paid for the bundled test package. So I guess everybody won. Except Jetta of course

ETA. Jetta's weight is basically stable despite the off apply this past week or so. She was 6.9 in January and She was 7.15 pounds today so still underweight but over a pound up from last August at Diagnisis.

And in other news, I did get a script for Levemir. I'm getting it filled tomorrow and I'll start it Wednesday. The vet agreed we should try something new to flatten out Jetta's curve. I'm a little nervous about the switch just because we're so used to Lantus but I owe it to Jetta to try it. Marje- if you're reading this-be prepared to hear from me!! :-D

I hope all kitties and beans are doing well. I will check in with condos later as our pokefest gets underway.

Great PMPS and nice vetty report! I hope the Metronidazol helps. We have it on hand for Tarragon's IBD and use it when he gets liqui poo. One pill clears it right up and we only give it once every couple of weeks. We do mix psyllium in with their food daily and that really helps as well. have a great night Jaclyn!

I hope all the tests come back well.
Good score on the Levemir script :thumbup I would start with a little lesser dose when you do the switch. That's what we did, and soon had to reduce more. Best of Luck to ya.

Thanks Melissa- good info on the Metronidazole. I hope it works as well for Jetta as it sounds like it does for Mt T.
Hi Ella - We're hoping for good grades too! (that gave me a good laugh!)
Thanks Sienne - I know there was another Dental thread out there with specific steps for an FD kitty to take to minimize risk. Can anyone point me to it?
Hi Dyana- I think I'll start Jetta on .5U Lev and see where that take us and quickly come up if I see we need to.

I was thinking more like 0.75, but it's up to you. Just be around to monitor when you do the switch.

OK, .75 sounds good to me. I'm stable this week (working from home all day every day) and I'm well rested for, so monitoring should be no problem. Thanks for the input!
