I am so glad to hear that Checkers is feeling better today. And that he's enjoying his FF T&G. Rusty is, too!!

Hope you get your shopping in before the storm. We had snow here last night and this morning.

Can we say 'flat'? How about a nice flat blue, Checkerboy.
Turkey and Chicken flavors must be everybody's fave. The supermarket was out of just those 2 flavors. I snagged a box of mixed poultry and beef.
Checkers had no need for bupe today. So far, so good. He always feels good the day after having a dose.
He and Clancy were mock fighting and racing down the hall. Checks was playing on the bed with Tux.
What a difference a day makes.

Yes, the vet gave us the Carafate. I am hoping it does the trick but have heard good things about it!!

I'm sis sorry I'm a day late in my wishes for Checks and I'm glad he's better today.

Our Gussie weighs 9.5 lbs now and he has severe congenital arthritis. We tried everything and the only two things that help him are weekly visits from the vet who does Reiki like work on him ...and his bupe. He's been on .1ml bupe bid for about three years. He's never groggy and I believe it still works well for him. His eyes are clear and happy and I see no evidence of pain. He has a lot of muscle wasting like you describe with Checkers but he is also in stage 2 of CKD...but very stable (anti jinx).

I know you have a plan and I think if it works for him...super. But SS Sienne said on his condo yesterday, the bupe will be fine for him long term and if it helps his QOL, then it's a good thing.

BTW, I know he got low on this dose the other day and he's been bouncing. If he doesn't clear it tonight or by the morning, I might consider another .25u increase for him. I saw your post on Rupies condo and if Checkers is not getting down enuff, it's not the type of insulin.....it's either pain or not enuff insulin.

Glad to hear that checkers is feel better today. I hope the plan you have gets him feeling good all the time. BTW, do you know that you have 2 condos going today? Um , and today is the 22nd. :roll: :lol:
 
Hi barb - I am so glad that Checkers is feeling better today - yes: what a difference a day can make! I have read too that bupe can be used long term, and if it helps, then why not. I don't have any hands on experience, but have seen this stated in many condos. I do so hope it will help Checks! I like your plan for him, and I hope it is successful! Go checks! To funny on him and Clancy racing. Somebody definitely feels good today. :-D

Oh, man...I missed yesterday!!

Sorry we weren't there to lend our support...but so glad to hear Chex is feeling good today!
