Went to the vet for his regular check up today. Temp was 100 and he got his shots. the rescue remedy did nothing - he growled and hissed the moment we stepped into the building.

We will increase his does to 1.25 units tomorrow. I am hoping to be able to stay home from work one day next week, maybe Friday, to do another curve on him. Vet was ready to up him to 1.5 but I told him I felt 1.25 was better. Showed the vet tech/my pet sitter how to dose the 1.25 on the syringe - I had his equipment with me and should have given him his shot there...

His amps was at 5am followed by the insulin. He ate about 45 minutes later. I tried to go back to sleep, but that didn't happen so I went in to work to start making up time for my early departure. Hopefully Cedric can get off the rollercoaster he is on (or tells cjleo he is on....).
We got stuck in some serious traffic, so he got his insulin at about 6:30 instead of 5:30. We go back to our regular 6/6 tomorrow and will use the 1.25 units.

Dr is ok with the B-12!

I have always wondered about rescue remedy - used to work with a woman who swore by the stuff for her dogs...but I thought it contained alcohol and that was was doing the calming, lol. Glad the vet visit went well and hope the dose increase does the trick for Cedric.

I think I probably would have upped him to 1.5 as well but I can understand you wanting to be more cautious because you can't be home with him to monitor as I can be with Autumn, so in that case I can completely understanding only taking him up .25u instead of a full .5u and of course you can always go up more if need be.

I think RR is one of those things that works for some cats but not others...Never used it with my guys so just don't know but have heard both sides of the results..I think the feliway might work better and you do know you can get it in a spray bottle where you just spray the inside of the kennel. Again no personal experience just have heard more positive feedback on the feliway than rescue remedy.

At my house its all catnip all the time to mellow out their Majesties .....but nothing solves the yowling all the way too and from the vet office....
