There's not much going on here today...at least not much that's different. Trix seems to be feeling good - bright-eyed, spunky, feisty, super-duper snuggly, silky soft shiny fur, doesn't have that "I don't feel good" look. And her appy is decent, but it also seems "odd" to me. I can't quite put my finger on it. Just as one example, she'll be very enthusiastically digging in, then very suddenly stop and turn away. That's not her usual "I'm done eating" gesture. She usually eats and eats, then slows down, then turns away. Andshe's not always doing this sudden stop - it seems to be more focused on her Purina than her Fancy Feast. It's just odd. Of course I'm all paranoid that maybe she bit her tongue or something like that when she fell off the computer chairs on Sunday. Everything else about her seems to be 100% normal Trix....and I hate that I can be overly observant - I make myself crazy!
DH gave her a middle-of-the-night snicky snacky at my request....he got up to go to the bathroom, and that woke Trix up. She wanted to bust into the master bedroom at that point. Since she was up and at 'em, I asked him to give hr a snack. He wasn't super-thrilled, but he's an awesome DH and daddybean, so he did it. He said she ate quite a bit of it on her own (Fancy Feast again), and we have a nice green BG to start the day!
As expected, no big revelations from the oncology appointment yesterday. The doc doesn't want to make any decisions until after we go to Penn on May. I'm bothered by the fact that he doesn't seem familiar at all with another popular protocol for gastric cancer that doesn't include the platinum drug, so I definitely plan to push for more info on that when we're at Penn. I'm printing out all the info I'm finding on it. The local doc is good, but very general. The Penn doc seemed pretty general, too, but will obviously be more experienced, so we'll see. In the meantime, my Dad is feeling OK, but not like a ball of fire. I think he's probably a bit depressed from all of this, and that's not helping. He did start taking something for that a few weeks ago, but it takes time to really start working.
I'm off today, but have to get through a ton of housework, since my next day off (Friday) is pulmonary doctor day with my Dad.
Have a great day, L&LL!
