So Toeby had a big drop this morning, but he was really quite high tonight at shot time.

He could tell he didn't feel well today...
I gave him freeze dried turkey every hour as a snack before I had to go out after his +5 test.
When I got home he looked crummy, so even though it was +11, I tested him to be sure his blood sugar wasn't too low.
I am hoping he has a better evening - I will give him some snacks.
He did eat a good supper at shot time.

Are you able to test earlier in the am cycle or are you out at work?. He could have dropped lower than the 4.4 either before or after the +5.
Your remarks column says you tested and fed at +1 +2 +4 and +5 but they are not recorded. If you get a number like 4.4 always test again to make sure he is on the way up again.
Now he is bouncing from either the fast drop or the lower green number. Perfectly normal but frustrating.
You are on the right dose at the moment. We just need him to get used to the lower numbers and for you to stop any fast drops by feeding to try and reduce the number of bounces.

Sorry... my remarks were meant for me, to record what food I gave him for snacks.
The only blood tests I got between preshots were at +5 and +11... but I gave him freeze dried turkey at +1, +2 etc and when I tested him... I'll change the remarks.
If I test him, I record the reading.

I'm retired - I am not home 24/7, but I am home more than I ever have been, due to the pandemic.
Tonight he wouldn't eat the freeze dried turkey he had this morning, so I don't know what I'm going to be able to give him.
I'm not going to be able to feed him snacks through drops every cycle, every day.
When I am out, he has access to food always... we make sure he has food in his dish.
But I'm not always home, and when I am, he doesn't always eat what I offer, like tonight.
Cats.. :banghead:
