Leo's 4/12 Condo
Happy Caturday LL,

I am back in civilization and with Leo! :-D Leo had a good week with his DGP's, they said he was a really good boy and was busy mousing all week. When Leo kills a mouse he comes to the front door and meows as loud as he could so everyone can see his catch, of course he tries to come in but they never let him......this week my parents thought they'd let him come in with his mouse, he'd bring his mousies inside to his dish and eat it from there

He had a so-so week with his BG's, my dad wasn't testing as often as he should have at night, he'd test at +2, or +3 and call it a night. He also had somehow turned off the number lock on the keyboard and couldn't enter Leo's numbers.....nobody said he was computer techy! So i couldn't even see Leo's numbers to tell him to test more often at night. My dad also went through a whole cartridge of Lev this week too.......he said he had some trouble with bubbles  sheesh!

We had a good test, shoot and feed this morning, Leo tried as hard as he could to get me out of bed several times during the night  meowing, head butting, purring, digging to get under blankets, etc, etc. I am pooped this morning so its BTB for both of us.

Have a great Caturday everyone, i'll check in later when i drag my lazy bones outta bed.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337

Morning! and welcome back to civilization - we have missed you!

  on allowing Leo to bring in his catch, have at it at his bowl. wow.... no way could I do that. Kudos to DGP's!

I still think it is great that you have someone to care for Leo while you are gone, computer techy or not.. love the story!

Enjoy your day. We are glad you are back home with your boy. Enjoy the btb, both of you. :-D :-D

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337

did he actually take the mouse to his bowl to eat? that's amazing. i'd be afraid there would be crime scene evidence all over the house!

your dad cracks me up. technology is not for everyone! my parents used to call and say that their email inbox had disappeared.   one time when we drove to their place (an hour) to figure out their computer woes, we discovered dad had somehow clicked on the top edge of the screen and dragged the entire screen down and out of view. so you could barely see a peek of blue at the bottom right corner. yeah, those evil inbox-thieves are a problem! ;-) i gave them kudos, though - they started using computers in their 70's, so not bad at all.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337

My DA curses out her computer & thinks it has evil toward her
Happy to see you-Come on down Leo--Hugs from us!

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337

Hi Tracy & Leo,
Nice to see you again! Leo is such an impeccable kitty: eating his fresh kill out of his bowl! Now, Leo, your mamabean is home and wants to see some lower numbers, OK? (a whole cartridge of Lev. in a week?? OMG!

Enjoy your btb.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337

Welcome Home! All is well now Leo, time to bring those numbers down.  Such a neat kitty, Tess used to bring lizards in, but they were still alive and wouldn't stay in the bowl!

Welcome home Tracy, you were missed. Oh yikes with the mouse in the dish! That Leo is a good mouser. I love Leo's DGpa and DGMa; they are so cute and how lucky to have them help. Have a nice day you two.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by our condo today. Apparently my parents were trying to find their camera so they could snap a pic of Leo eating a mouse from his dish but they couldn't find it.

So I just saw an email from Dr. Andrea about testing Leo for acro, she's found a place in the US that will test for it and Leo will go in for bloodwork on Thursday. I will ask about testing for IAA as well. I can imagine it will take weeks for us to get the results back from the test. The test is $170  gulp!!!!

Leo has just had lunch and is now napping on the couch......its a tough life.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326

Welcome back!!!

Good luck on the tests!

I'd stay on top of the increases in insulin, too. As soon as he hits those six cycles, if he hasn't done anything, I'd get him up to the next dose.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54!!!!!!

ACCCCKKKKKKKK!!!! I did not see that 54 coming at all :o :o  I was out running around and shopping for grub i came home and let Leo outside while i putted around, i noticed he was eating grass like a little fiend and i went to pick him up and he growled and hissed at me. I brought him in and tested him and he couldn't sit still......i got 3.1 and 3.0 on the re-test.....OMG my poor cat, he got some 11% FF and he gobbled it up and asked for more. He was probably eating grass because he was starving, now i feel badly for leaving him.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54!!!!!!

Huh, I could have sworn I posted from my iPod at DS house! Anyway, great catch and he didn't get too low so all is well. Watch out w/ those dose threats. you may get what you wish for.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54!!!!!!

Gotta like that green!!

My hunch is that it's not the tests that are all that expensive, it's the shipping. Michigan State is the only place in the US (I think) that does the testing. The cost for both tests at MSU is $65.00. However, blood being overnight shipped is expensive and probably even more expensive from Canada.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54!!!!!!

Well then, never mind on the dosecrease, Leo!! But you didn't have to be SO dramatic about it!

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54, +10 103, PMPS 106

I shot the 106, and i'm thinking he will probably be heading towards a bounce anyway after that 54. He finally got to eat some yummy MC, he hasn't eaten the "good" stuff in months :-D

Dr. Andrea emailed me back to ask if i would be willing to bring Leo in for bloodwork on Monday or Tuesday just so we can avoid shipping his blood over the weekend. The $170 is shipping included so i guess that makes more sense.

Re: 4/21 Leo AMPS 337, +4 326, +9 54, +10 103, PMPS 106

Tracy, this was the most fun condo today.  Love all the mouse comments.

Shame on you, for having a life, and going out food shopping, leaving that poor boy to starve.
I think it's just wonderful that you can rely on your parents to care for Leo while you're gone for work.

i just paid $85 for fed ex to ship punkin's blood sample from oregon to MSU last week for a recheck. the test was $49 on the webpage, but a year ago the old vet charged me $68-$69ish for the test, so i'm not sure if the webpage is up to date. if it's more, i'm sure the vet will let me know. punkin's blood draw fee at the vet's was $11 - so if $170 is the total, that's not too bad. the iaa test is cheaper than the acro test at MSU - the webpage says $15. either way, it'll be good to know if you've got something like that going on with him.

the acro tests take less than 10 days and they only start the tests on wednesdays, so maybe that's why she wants to draw and mail the sample on monday. the iaa test results come back first, usually just 3-4 days. they release the results to the vet only.

i'd love to see a video of him traveling through the house with his yummy mouse and eating out of the bowl. the internet would have fun making leo famous with that one! silly kitter. he's just making sure you're not ignoring him with that 54.
