Good morning LL!

Tarragon's numbers have been creeping up. His insulin is over 60 days so I suspect that is the issue. We have been using vials but I am tired of throwing half of it away. I talked to our vet yesterday about the pens. He had never had that request and didn't know a lot about it so he did a bunch of research on his own to put his mind to ease as far as formula, storage, etc. I am picking up a 5 pack at Sam's today after work. Any input on where to order in Canada for the future would be appreciated.

Hopefully the new juice will bring Tarragon back down. In spite of the higher numbers, he has been a very happy furry purry boy, wrestling with his sister as much as she will put up with, cuddling his mama bean at night, bumping and kissing Charlie when Charlie will sit still, and talking talking talking. He definitely has an exciting life from the sounds of it because there is so much to tell when I get in the door.

It has been a crazy week. Charlie is very territorial and takes his duties very seriously in the back yard. Ducks have decided our pool is the perfect place to live and Charlie is continuously telling them otherwise with lots of barking, running, swimming at them, etc. Wednesday night, he got into a fight with a coyote in the back yard. There was no blood drawn thankfully and the coyote was scrambling to get over the fence and get away. Charlie came back limping on his newest repaired leg. Ugh. We have been icing the knee and he is back on Rimadyl. Today the limp is almost gone so I hope it was just strained. He has been on strict bed rest and it is killing him. At least today is rainy and yucky so he doesn't mind being inside so much.

Hope you all have a HAPPY FRIDAY! Woohoo!!! DH is off to Norman today and tomorrow for some male bonding with Mason. They will go to a college baseball game, out to dinner, and then hang out at the hotel together. It's just me and the fur babies tonight, which will be nice and quiet (I hope).

Re: 4/20 Tarragon AMPS 252

Hi Melissa, I hope the new juice will bring Tarragon's numbers down. Let me know how you like the pens vs. the vial. I am still using the vial and on my third month. That's a good Vet to research it if he's not familiar. I hope Charlie's leg is all better today. Strict bed rest for Charlie, huh! Maybe Mr. T and Turnup will sit with him. Maggie and Mr. T would make a lively pair with their talking. Have a nice day, Melissa, and hope tbp goes by fast today.

I'm glad to hear that all is well, just really busy.I'd been away and then you weren't on for a couple of days.

I hope it is just old insulin and Mr. T is back in the green in no time. Roni has a great price for the pens! We pay about $180 at Costco. I worry too much about handling to order from Canada though.

Re: 4/20 Tarragon AMPS 252

Too cute Ann!   You got me. We did keep missing eachother, and I mean missing. :-D

That is good to know on your Costco price. It is $200 at Sam's and I have the $25 off coupon for today. I have always been really skittish about ordering from Canada. I ordered there one time and it got lost in the mail and showed up 4 months later. I might try using Roni's contact and see how it goes for that price.

Re: 4/20 Tarragon AMPS 252

Melissa, did you know that there is a difference in the way you handle and draw insulin from the pen then the vials. My memory is poor, but I'm pretty sure its Julie and punkin, has a video on how to. If someone doesn't come on, I'll try and look for it if you want. Not sure how I found it. Its on this site.

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Good luck with the pens. They've worked well for us...we've been using them for almost a year now. Like you, though, I've been leary of ordering them. My local Target sells them to me one at a time...it's more cost-effective to buy the whole 5-pack at once, but less shocking to the bank account to buy them one at a time, so that's what I've been doing.

Poor Charlie...I hope he heals up quickly!!

Enjoy your quiet night tomorrow!!

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Tarragon sounds like a real sweetie, I hope the pen cartridges help and Charlies leg is OK. Mooch sends smooches!

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Melissa!! I'm so glad to see a Tarragon condo and to hear that all is good in Lil T land!! I hope new pens will be just the answer for him.

Enjoy your time with Tarragon, Turnup, and Charlie while DH is visiting Mason! HUGS! We've missed you!

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Melissa, I hope your are enjoying your evening with the furbabies, and that Charlie is all better tomorrow.
The only thing I can think of right now that's different with the pens is that you never want to shoot air into them, as they are vacuum sealed and could explode or break or something like that.

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

That yellow isn't your usual sunny shade Mr T it's getting a bit of a pinkish tinge, work your new juice good and get rid of that ok.

Hope Charlie is doing ok now - poor drooler, he should get a medal for being injured in the line of duty!

I was accidentally shooting air into a pen cartridge for ages before I saw Julie and Punkin's vid - it never exploded on me but it did lose effectiveness at about the halfway mark :?

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Good idea to get new juice. I hope that does the trick. A fight with a coyote? Charlie, you do such a good job defending your backyard but please be careful. I hope your leg is feeling better. Happy weekend, Melissa!

Re: 4/20 Tarragon PMPS 278

Go new juice! I hope you like the pens. I really do. I used the vial for the longest time, but too ended up throwing so much away too, and went in search of pens.... Funny - I had to go to my vet and show them how we use them, same thing with the pharmacy!

Enjoy the time for yourself! I hope DH and Mason enjoy their time together too -sounds like a ton of fun.

I think Ella of Ella and Rusty order from Canada too. I never have, as I'm just so far away, and wonder about handling etc... so I pay way too much at the local pharmacy...

Be well Charlie!

oh Tarragon - you too! Back to the blues and greens for you. Your bean got you new juice - so... work it!

Hi Melissa,
I order from Canada Drugs Online and have always had good luck with them:
http://www.canadadrugsonline.com/DrugMoreInfo5636.aspx

Here is some info. about ordering from Canadian pharmacies from PharmacyChecker.com. You have to be careful not to deal with "rogue" pharmacies, which often have names very similar to legit. pharmacies. This web site tells you what's what. Here is their page of pharmacy ratings (all legit. pharmacies that have earned the seal of approval):
http://www.pharmacychecker.com/onlinepharmacyratings.asp

Here is their list of "rogue" pharmacies: http://www.pharmacychecker.com/rogue-pharmacies.asp

The entire website has info. about the criteria for issuing the seal of approval.

Good for Charlie, protecting the house from the intruder.

Good luck with the pens.

Ella & Rusty
