Wow, it's been a hot minute!
Thank you to everyone who has been inquiring about us. Ruby's doing super well. She's been on the same dose for a while now and doing her blue/green thing, rarely dropping low, eating well, pooping so regularly that I've stopped tracking it. She has had one episode of vomiting, one episode of diarrhea recently, but otherwise it's all smooth sailing.
Her oncology visit went very well. I haven't posted her labs yet but they're all fine according to the oncologist. I mentioned before that we will be away for three weeks in June, and because of that we're scheduling her next ultrasound in July so I can be around to dose her insulin properly. We found a lovely couple from Australia through Trusted Housesitters to look after Olive and Ruby while we are away and they are experienced cat caregivers. It's taken a huge load off me to know they will be well cared for while we are gone for so long. I will train them on how to deal with Ruby's diabetes, and of course I'll be posting on here to ask for vacation dosing advice before we leave. It's a huge thing for us to both be gone for so long, a first since Ruby was diagnosed and we went down the rabbit hole of health issues that plague older cats. But they are both thriving and happy, so that's the best I can hope for.
I hope everyone is well.
