Georgia and Simon (GA)

Simon was green last night and today he has a great AMPS. Unfortunately, when I went to give him the insulin, I felt the needle hit my finger so I'm almost 100% sure I gave a fur shot. I guess I'll find out for sure when I do more tests throughout the day. Yesterday, Simon threw up again and I finally realized (I believe) what is causing him to throw up almost every other day. I have begun seeing little pieces of chewed leaves next to one of my plants in the living room. I have had that plant there for awhile, but I think Simon has just discovered it. I'm going to put it up and see if the pukus gets better.

My civvie, Cleo, was a pest again this morning. She started crying around 5:30 and jumping off and on the bed again, walking on top of me. At least she didn't get into another hissing fight with Simon.

Hope y'all have a great Caturday!

Re: 4/2 Simon AMPS 103 fur shot

Sorry about the fur shot Georgia, but don't worry as it happens to most of us, and you will get Simon back on track. You may have gotten a little in him. That's good you found the source of Simon's vomit with the leaves. Have a nice Caturday.

Re: 4/2 Simon AMPS 103 fur shot

Good morning Georgia and Simon....sorry if it was a fur shot....but ya never know~~maybe it will be okay. The numbers will tell, as you say. I am happy that you found the nibbled leaves since you know the reason for his vomiting. I was shocked to read about all the plants that are poisonous to our kitties. I love house plants, but will not have them around if it will tempt Shadow into eating a leaf or two. You can usually find info online if you know the name of the plant.
Really interesting to know about the ones that are extremely dangerous....why the kitties are tempted to eat them is beyond me. But they do seem to munch on house plants eventually. I hope you can keep it out of his reach!

Re: 4/2 Simon AMPS 103 fur shot

Hey! Good Morning! I am a fur shot Queen, because fur shots just happen to most of us..I'm sure it will rectify itself in the next cycle or 2...My cats eat my plants too!! Copper has constantly eaten my lucky Bamboo plants so No Wonder I dont have good luck!!!!--Have a GREAT Caturday!

Re: 4/2 Simon AMPS 103 fur shot +5 124

Thanks, guys for the supportive words. I was feeling pretty stupid about the fur shot, but I guess it happens to everyone. I'm not sure the 124 at +5 is because of the fur shot or because Simon threw up again. I noticed some leaves on the floor before I had a chance to put away my plant, so he must have eaten some and then thrown up right before I needed to test him. I'll test again in an hour or so after I get back from running more errands.

Too funny Roni on the lucky bamboo plants!

  Binks tossed one of my bamboo stalks into the toilet once...and my first thought was "This is going to be a bad week"

Hi guys - sorry about the fur shot. We've all been there - know I have too. Simon will be back on track soon.

Good catch on the plant! I have alot of indoor ones too, and am grateful that they do not touch them. Now the outdoor grass is another story....

Have a great night guys!

Re: 4/2 Simon PMPS 87

Wow, I wasn't expecting an 87 today because I really believe I gave a fur shot and Simon's earlier numbers seemed to say that I did. Anyway, I'll take the green  !

Michelle, you are right about the grass outside. I don't know why it always makes Simon throw up. You would think that he would realize his tummy will get sick once he eats it. It must taste pretty good.

Re: 4/2 Simon PMPS 87

Looking good, Simon! Georgia, I think you and Ella can take turns doing my fur shots! You apparently do them quite well!!

Re: 4/2 Simon PMPS 87

A green PMPS with a furshot? Huh. Sweet
I haven't opened a condo today. Just wanted to pop in and comment on Simon looking great tonight.

Re: 4/2 Simon PMPS 87

Yup, it doesn't seem to have been a fur shot. My title is secure!
I think kitties like to eat grass and weeds and plants just because it makes them vomit. They might want to get up a hairball (Stu used to eat the most awful weeds, one of which always made him sick--that's the one he liked the best!!). But if you don't know how poisonous the house plant is, put it out of reach (what kind of a plant is it?). Rusty is indifferent to plants, but Stu wanted them all. We finally had to forbid guests to bring flowers because so many of them are very poisonous to cats. Be especially careful of lilies and tulips at this time of year.

Have a good evening, guys,

Ella & Rusty
