4/2 - LILY, Should .5 units continue or change before 7 days are up?

Hi everyone,

I just did a blood glucose curve on Lily on the 28th. She was on .75 units of Lantus insulin. Because on her SS, she had gotten as low as 48 & 84 in previous weeks, I did a reduction to .5 units on the 29th. Today is the 5th day being on .5 units dose...Lily's numbers haven't been hitting low and have even been going to 500...

Should I just finish out the rest of tonight and the next 2 days at .5 units to prepare to do a curve? OR should I increase Lily's insulin back to .75 units?

Lily has a history of ketoacidosis. I am checking her ketones each day on strips.

Given the amount you test, and the histroy of DKA, I think you'll be fine to increase back to 0.75 units a couple days earlier than SLGS suggests.

Thanks Wendy! I'll try to make it to another 7 days again and hope to make it to another curve.
