Would you recommend shooting higher? He's eating a little better, but still weak. Thinking the high BGs could be slowing the process of clearing the infection (if that's what it is).

Re: 4/2 FRED 372(1)

You are in a little bit of uncharted territory, Kathleen, as you have several variables besides the insulin. I'd say yes, increase by maybe .25, but it'd be best if you could monitor, especially the first cycle.

Re: 4/2 FRED 372(1)

Ok. I'll wait until tomorrow to see how his slightly increased mobility and better eating affects his numbers. If still high, I'll start the .25 increase.

Haven't seen much activity in the liter box, so may mix in a little pure pumpkin with his FFlora snacks. Probably the lack of eating much and the antibiotics, but he needs to stay clean on the inside!

Will post his +10 numbers shortly.

Re: 4/2 FRED 372(1);+3=319

Was fed around 7am with shot. Ate breakfast and took antibiotic. Wanted to sit in window. Gave him a chair to come down on.
Got back around 10 for +3 test. He was resting on carpet. All of breakfast had been thrown up - no doubt, along with the antibiotic.
Will try to get a little FFlora in with a little food because I won't be back until later this afternoon.

Darn. Have you asked the vet if there is a different antibiotic that he could prescribe that might be easier for Fred?
