Good morning everyone

As I write this Fistuk is in surgery. He could feel it since last night. Didn’t want to eat (off course I shoved all the food into him with a syringe, no arguments ) didn’t want to pee…..

he slept next to me. I hardly slept last night.
I gave him food and half the insulin dose at +10. I tested him just before we left, at +11.5 was 130. I took the kit with me and tested him just before handing him over @+1 and dropped to 88!!

they assured me that they measure his BG every 5 minutes bc they have IV tube.
I looked into his eyes before I gave him to the assistant and I could see he was ok! I cried only when I left.

I’m expecting to pick him up at around +5

Oh gosh, that must have been a very anxious wait! SO glad all went well and he was a hungry boy!

I'm just reading this and what a relief. Glad everything went well. Fistuk is such a fighter, just like his mama. We're continuing to send lots more PAWsitive and healing vines for a speedy recovery.

So happy all is done! Feed small meals, spaced apart when they are getting over anaesthesia. He'll probably complain.

Hi Everyone.
I quick update as I'm a total wreck...I'll write more tomorrow

We're back home. Fistuk was very eager to get back home. He was very hungry and had the full amount of supper- no syringe feeding!!! I gave him 10g at a time so he doesn't have too much in one go.

I just gave him a painkiller - don't want him to suffer pain, he's doing so well. It's like we have a new cat!

He got half the dose - 0.4U. I'll monitor him at night as well.

No waiting for some food and rest in between so I can keep track with him at night.
