Hello LLL!

Last condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/3-31-billie-pmps-162.135480/

I took Billie to the vet this morning for the pancreatitis test and a urine culture. We should have results back tomorrow. She did very well and the vet commented on how soft and sweet she is. She weighed 9 lbs 5 oz at the vet!! That confirms two great things...my home scale is accurate and she has indeed gained some weight back in the past few weeks! Good news.

In other news, someone threw up a bunch of Fancy Feast today. I'm at work and had DBF check on the girls and do Billie's PM shot, so he found the vomit. Here's how weird I am/how cool he is. I asked him to take a picture of the barf scene and send it to me, and he did. I wanted to see because I can usually tell who threw up by the look of it...this actually looked like Brooklyn. Maybe a scarf and barf. Anyway, I'm very thankful to have someone who will play vomit detective with me.

Billie's BG was high all day but she seemed to be in good spirits after she got the vetty smell off. She and Brooklyn did some birdwatching together, and she hung out with me while I took a little nap before work.

I hope everyone is doing well. Sending vines to all the kitties and beans, and dental recovery vines to Skooter and Eddie.

Your DBF sounds like a keeper!

I hope the tests come back normal (or, at least, not too bad) and that Billie will continue to be in good spirits.

Thanks for visiting Rusty and me,

I agree with Carla and Ella as well. Your DBF is indeed a keeper. She took the words right out of my mouth.

It will be interesting to see what the fPL shows. If normal, you will need to do another if the symptoms return. If it's even a little past or in the gray zone she likely had pancreatitis. I'm hoping it was and it never returns. For some it is a one time thing.

Thanks for the visits Ella, Carla, and Elise!!

I will actually be relieved if the results show pancreatitis...it would explain the symptoms Billie has been having, and it is not as scary or complicated to me as IBD or of course lymphoma. I do plan on redoing the test if it comes back normal but symptoms surface again. She has been a lot better on the ondansetron but still not 100% happy appy so I felt like it was worth doing now, but it will be worth repeating. The urine culture is to check for any chronic kidney infection or UTI. Her ultrasound showed that one kidney is much larger than the other, and that may not mean anything, but it could be from a chronic issue. Her kidney values were good on her BW a month ago, but the vet said that they can fluctuate if there is a flare up.

I am home now, and Billie seems pretty chipper...she and Brooklyn just had a minor turf war over a plastic bag that I left in the middle of the floor (my bad!), and Billie took a flying leap onto the bookshelf for refuge when Brooklyn gave her The Look. Now she's eating a bit! She hasn't had ondansetron so far tonight. I'll see how she does.

It's best to keep up with the ondansetron until she has a normal appetite for several days. I learned that the hard way. Also I'm not sure if you not it and you may already feed small amounts at a time. It helps the pancreas heal.
