I had to get up at 4:30 this morning to get some work done so I had to make the Champers wait for his breakfast until the usual time of 6. Poor thing couldn't understand why I wasn't in the kitchen fixing his breakfast!!

Oh course, Champ is not so pretty in pink. I gave him his first fur shot today, but it was so obvious that I sprayed it all over his fur and my finger that I went ahead and gave him a sk 1.5u. I wasn't going to let him go 12 hours with no insulin in him. I'm not a risk-taker so I'm 99.9% certain nothing got into him. I'm going to keep an eye on him because of the 0.1% chance. :-D

Good morning Champ! Sorry to hear about your fur shot. Ugh on the fur shot! Guinness is such a serious eater that I shoot him while he is eating. He never even flinches so it has been a lot easier to avoid the fur shots.

I understand about the getting up early thing. Sometimes I avoid even getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because Guinness will think I'm getting up to feed him and start the long, drawn out meow-a-thon until morning. Geez, I'm a slave to my cat!

Hi Linda and Guinness!! Every time I say I haven't done something, I end up doing it...which is what happened with the fur shot. I shoot him when he's eating too. I put his food on the kitchen table, up he goes, I check his BG real quick, give his shot, and then put him and his food on the floor. Except today I rushed and put his food on the floor before I shot him. It's so much harder to get a good angle when he's hunkered down on the ground and I didn't take my damn time. Oh well, that'll teach me.

I sure hope you and Guinness have a sunny yellow, maybe dip your toes in blue day. Wouldn't that be a nice change for all of us?

Gus is poppin' in to say his AM 'hellos' to Champ. Not only is a fur shot a pain to deal with, their fur smells of insulin. Gus is hangin' out doing his usual.....not too much. I was saying to Julie, I wonder how long it takes for a liver to heal. I know it's the only organ (in humans) that can regenerate itself, but I don't if it's a relatively fast healing or slow. I'm putting my money on 'slow'. Have a great day Patty and Champ. Did I ever tell you how handsome Champ is? Really regal in his pic.

ugh on the fur shot! the first one i did went clear through the tent. i called the vet's office in a panic and they said re-shoot. i did and missed again. punkin tries to be a moving target. being sure i'd missed and convinced i just simply HAD to succeed at this shot thing, I shot again! :shock: 7units EACH TIME! I'm so glad I didn't kill him. now i would've let it go or just done a tiny re-shot.

Oh boy...the smell of insulin!!! It's like a really strong bandaid smell. :lol: :lol:

One of these days, I'm going to post some not so regal pics of Champ. From the time he was a baby, he has always liked to sit like a human. Even when he was skinny, it always made him look fat and, thus, his nickname fatman. I have a great picture of him in this pose and I may have to figure out how to post some pics. And I think Gus is probably one of the cutest things going. He looks like a little kid who, after eating, swiped the back of his hand over his mouth and missed half of the gunk. :lol: Or a frat boy who's "brothers" waited until he was asleep and then shaved off half his mustache. :lol: :lol:

Well, Champ decided he wanted to play in the pinks today, all flippin day long. He can be such a pooh. I upped his dose to 1.75u tonight. I'm going to watch closely to see what happens. Fingers crossed people!!

all day in the pinks! champ needs an elevator pass so he can come on down! perhaps the .25 is just what he needs - i guess you'll find out eventually.
