Ann & Maggie11 (GA)

Good Sunday for Maggie and sleepy for me. She's doing the exact same thing that my kitty that crossed the rainbow bridge used to do in waking me up before I'm ready. Oh well, what am I to do except get up and have some coffee.

I do appreciate my coffee even more now than I ever did before... and that's saying something because I adore coffee!

I posted in Scrabble's condo but wanted to be sure you don't miss it. Click HERE to see pictures of the tiny doses. The pics are a bit blurry, but they're clear enough to see what you're looking for =) I also added a picture I found somewhere that shows the dosage drops on a countertop or something. This is how I practice a new dose, I get it in the syringe and get it to where I think is correct, then I carefully push it out onto my stove top in one drop, then I try again and I keep doing it till the drops on the stove are all the same size and seem to be the same size as the pictures indicate.

Everyone says that it's consistency that is the key. So if you're confident with your .50 doses, get the plunger to that point... then carefully twist it to expel single drops at a time (you can practice with water till you can make the drops come out about the same size) and count how many drops you take off the .50 to get to .25 and then do that every.single.time. Then when you get down to .10 twist out another drop or two on top of the number you'd been twisting out. That's how I've been doing it.

Great numbers to start off Maggie's day.

Gabby woke me up the other day the way my GA civie used to. It was a sweet memory.

Morning Ann...checked your SS but see that you didn't update yet. Did Maggie have any spot checks last night?
(Resident Testing Fanatic....I LOVE data! I am a meter freak as you might have already guessed! )
Nice AMPS for her this morning!! Super Duper!!

Thanks so much Marvie for explaining the .01 dose. I'm going to practice with water, and I've saved the link in my Favorites. I showed the half unit syringes to my Vet, and he didn't know they existed, Walgreens now carries them with a prescription.

Hi Sienne,
It's almost as if Maggie has taken on my other cat's personality, amazing!

Hi Pat,
I can't seem to do the +4 night dosages. I take a med for nerve pain in the legs before going to bed, and it makes me so sleepy and groggy, but I will try and do a bedtime check. I know it's not good excuse

Oh...ok Ann...sorry I am such a pest about it....it's just that blank spaces in a SS makes me so nervous. LOLOLOL
Whatever you can manage is good...you are doing a great job! HUGS!

Re: 4/18 Ann & Maggie11 AMPS=114

Good Morning Jill and Alex. It's cloudy here today, but it's a nice change for us. I know it sounds strange, but we get so much sunshine all thru the year.

Oh Pat, no you're not being a pest at all as I know I should be doing more...I appreciate all the reminding and help. When Maggie first got diagnosed, all I was told to do was give her two units every 12 hours and no choice or knowledge was given to me about home testing, so this forum is a lifesaver for my kitty and myself. I wonder what people do without the Internet, and I do know a few who want nothing to do with computers; I'd be lost!
