Good Morning, Everyone,

It's another cold, rainy, dreary morning in the North Country. These storms just keep on coming through. We're supposed to get the high winds today, maybe some snow tonight, etc. etc. Rusty went out on the downstairs porch for an instant this morning and quickly came back in (and this was the porch! He never got near being outdoors!). Anyway, he had a good night, sleeping with his beans. None of us wanted to get up this morning and in fact Rusty stayed on the bed even after we got up. Good test, good shot, 2 sittings of breakfast consumed, and a game of strategy with Red Ears has been played. Now Rusty is doing some serious resting on his cushion next to the radiator. Smart cat! I think I'll take a cue from him.

Not much on the agenda today. If the rain stops we'll go for a walk in the village. It's too awful out to go bicycling, and I can't even ride my bike on the trainer unless I bring it back down to the cellar from the garage (a job). Tonight is our monthly potluck supper with our local chapter of the Adirondack Mt. Club. I have to bring a salad (yea! that's the easiest thing to make).

Everyone have a good day. We hear about the storms in the south and hope that all of you in that part of the country are safe and out of the path of destruction.
Healing vines to all sick kitties and beans,

Ella & Rusty

(We are having a gorgeous morning so far...no storms here....DH turned off a/c and opened all the windows and Shadow is sitting by the screen door. Why don't you come down to visit us today? Lots of sunshine....bring Rusty too!

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115

Morning! nice amps there Rusty - good job! and he stayed in bed??? It must be nasty there. Sorry for the bad weather - we are having some of it too. It is raining hard this morning with a little snow mixed in. weird weird weather for us. And now the sun is trying to come out. Go figure....

Poor Rusty - to ugly to venture on out. Mannie didn't want to either... I guess I can't blame them. :-D

Enjoy your walk today, and have a nice time at the potluck. I'm with you - salads are the way to go: easy and minimal fuss. have a good time!

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115

This is a very good day to be near a warm radiator. Smart boy, that Rusty
It's cold and snowy and windy here in the southern tier. :YMSIGH:

Have fun at the potluck, Ella and Edward.

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115

Sounds like a nice, warm, snuggly morning in your house despite the weather. Nice AMPS for RUSTY, too!!! He's so wonderful....what a blessing he's been to you two.

Enjoy your day and your potluck!!!!

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115

We got that weather (much less severe) here in Ct. last night. High winds today. It's been a raw, wet and cold spring up north. New Englanders love to complain about their weather. "Went right from winter into summer, no spring at all" is a favorite. Hope all of you stayed safe through the worst. Nice numbers for Rusty. He'll get some major healing done today.

There's that Rusty green! Sounds like a nice day to hole up w/ a cat and a good book. Thanks for looking in on Tess.

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115, +6 83

Well Rusty is on the greens! We had that weather here yesterday...yech.

Definately a big bowl of soup or stew, crispy bread, a warm blanket and a cuddly cat...what could really be better on such a ugly day.

Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Re: 4/17 Rusty AMPS 115, +6 83, +8 74, +9.5 90, PMPS 93

Hi again,
We had a relaxing afternoon watching the Mets win (for a change!). Rusty exhibited some surprising behavior today: at +8 he was at his "testing spot" on the coffee table, meowing. I rarely test him at +8 and thought that he was trying to tell me something, like, that his bg was low. So I tested and got a nice 74. Then he curled up on the couch to watch the game with me and at +9.5 jumped to the test site again. We had another test and got 90 (fairly typical for +9) (I wasn't going to do a +9 since we had done the +8, but he was so insistent that I did one.) When we got back from the potluck in time for PMPS he was waiting at the test site--15 minutes early!!
He is always good about coming for his tests, but has never "requested" them before.

The potluck was the usual fare: lots of filling casseroles, mayonaisey salads with "stuff" in them (not mine, which was a tossed green salad), and delicious desserts. I'm "stufft". Off now to visit some condos and to watch the new "Upstairs, Downstairs".

Have a good evening, everyone

Ella & Rusty

WOW!, and isn't that the best. Rusty requesting his tests, Mannie will every now and then.... like he's trying to tell me something. I never miss them either... sometimes it is an oh oh!, other times I think he just wants the attention. I think is is great that Rusty wanted his. YAY! :-D :-D

  Love your pot luck descriptions of the fuds - that is so true!!! Mine are the tossed green variety too, or this broccoli slaw that I love.

have a great night guys, enjoy the show, and I hope Rusty has a good cycle tonight. :-D

Rusty!! Lets go!! party cooking to do, and fishing!!!! Attie has fund the perfect fishing hole... we need nets - he says those fish can be 10 lbs!!  See you! ~~ Mannie

Oh Rusty, you little dickens, couldn't wait to show off your good numbers, to your beans, huh? :-D
Yum, casseroles, and salads. I'm glad you enjoyed your day, Ella. :-D

Sounds like a lovely day!! Potluck sounds delightful... I'm always fond of salad duty as well... my favorite is a summer salad (best when everything is in season)... chunked tomatoes, avocado and cucumber with a handful of shelled edamame tossed in, dressed with olive oil and either lime juice and cilantro or lemon juice and dill with sea salt and pepper. easy, heavenly, and always popular.

Love that Rusty was requesting pokes today... you think you could get him to discuss this with Willie over the grill tonight???

Christie, your salad sounds so good. I'm going to try it this summer.

Rusty is off to the full Fish moon party, grilling stuff in paws and taking along some flys that some of the fishermen here tie. He wants to cast!
