Well, I figured out why Orange's AM +5 yesterday was 414.... I found a bag of hamburger buns torn open on the counter! Now I know to hide those better. We were back on track with a PM +4 at 214.

Yvette's utltrasound got postponed to today - she's there now, so no news for her yet.

oh they are sneaky little buggers, aren't they? it's just a good thing that punkin's arthritis keeps him from jumping straight up on the counters anymore. he can make tables, but most of the contraband would be on the counters. i think he sends anya to scope things out and retrieve anything that might be edible.

lots of people have reported that their hoover will even eat the dog food kibbles. the stuff is like crack!

fortunately, orange will get back on track before long.

hope you get a good report on yvette!

Yeah, Orange LOVES dog food kibble!

We always have Yvette sit/stay before before a meal. Before his diagnosis Orange would tend to swoop in and steal a few pieces from her bowl. Yvette would just sit there looking at Orange then me and back at Orange and saying "are you seriously going to let him do that?" Obviously, we've put an end to that now, but he would still chow down on it if given the chance.

Hi Julie,

That's funny that Orange would eat hamburger buns! Racci would never eat bread. She hates it. She begs me for a taste of what I'm eating but I have to pull out the inside for her or she won't try it.

There's always a reason! Rosy loves bread, corn, sweet potatoes! Yes, all those HC. She used to climb all over me whenever she smelled these food. Poor thing! Now I've to hide inside the kitchen when I have my bread for breakfast!

Update on Yvette.

They found a small adrenal gland tumor. They are testing her for Cushings. I'm relieved to start having some answers about whats going on with her, and have hope now that the vet said this is treatable. It's probably not the best diagnosis, but she's an old girl and the way she has been looking the past few weeks I have been scared of losing her.

We'll have some initial Cushings tests back tomorrow. I don't know much about this disease so I have some research to do.

There used to be an active Yahoo board. I haven't been on it in years though. Carol is amazing if you post and she is still on you'll get great advice. My dog Nike went through all the testing and it always came back in the grey area. She had a lot of issues - elevated liver enzymes, panting, enlarged liver, severe heart disease and eventually CHF. The treatment can be harsh - Cushings mask other diseases - so if there is arthritis for example it will make itself more known. Nike never had to go through Cushings treatment but we were researching it alot when she was getting the lowdex/high dex tests after her stim test came back high. Its always good to have a diagnosis and arm yourself with information. Sending big hugs.
