Yeah we should be long pass it as well....normally we should be in the 50s and 60s by now but this year the weather has been more bipolar than normal which of course has the farmers here getting really nervous because they can't get into the fields yet to plant. If they can't get in the fields soon a snowball effect will start (no pun intended) where the corn and wheat crops will be late to harvest and mostly like smaller which will be a rise in the prices of everything from Beef, to bread to ethanol gas. <sigh>
After the drought last year we need the moisture but we need it in soft soaking rain, not snow and ice, they could get into the fields as long as the rain is gentle and not gully washers. Unfortunately they need to get into the fields and plant while the weather is cool enough for the seedlings to get a good start before our weather does its summer 180 to temps over 100 for weeks upon weeks, unfortunately I don't think that is going to happen this year. I have a feeling when the weather switches it is going to go from freezing our tails off to sauna conditions.
Plus this weather is murder on us personally with DH being a commerical roofer, I don't even remember that last time he got a full 40 hrs/week in, like last week he only got 19 1/2 hours which is going to make this week tough to meet the bills. We are already so far behind on just the regular bills its going to take months once his summer hours hit to catch up. The only bright spot is his company pays overtime on any day that is longer than 8 hours even if that is a monday so when they can get out and work they put in long, long days to make up for the downtime. So normally over Spring they get several long days in to make up for the short or down days but even that isn't happening this year, and they have had so many shop days this winter and spring that they have nothing left in the shop to kill off bad weather days.
As much as I hate it I have a feeling we are going to have to ask his dad for another loan just to keep the internet and lights on this week so we can keep us and the babies in food. I just hate constantly stressing over the budget. I can extend the internet bill for another week, but we may have to ask his dad to cover the utilities for this month. Which he doesn't mind doing since this is technically one of his rental properties and anytime he covers one of our utility bills he can tax it off his taxes, but I still hate when we have to ask.
