Yesterday

If I were you guys, by now I'd think that we report Rosie's numbers on a 24 hour delay and that I say that "time for an increase!" thing only when I know she is going to drop the next day. But really, I don't!

I got fed up again yesterday so she gives us an AMPS of 87, one of only three ever below 90. Rosie, I surrender! For now.

I am having a problem: I can't get the test strip windows to fill. DH and Son Bean have no trouble. I have had no trouble since 2009. I can't tell what's going on. I am not anxious about testing. I used to be pretty good at it. I'm the one who did Basil monthly for all the years he was in remission. It's making me crazy!

I did not get the window to fill at +3.6 this morning and got 65 which I knew meant she was very likely between 45 and 50 so I called DH in to do another test. He did and got 49 and we repeated for confidence. Now, I did the +6 and the window did not fill! I got 83 but that probably means 60 to 70. In any event she is green and safe. But, it is starting to freak me out. How can I be losing this "skill" of touching the meter to the more-than-adequate blood drop? Whine whine whine.

Look at the tip of the lancet and make sure the bevel is up? Are you getting enough blood or maybe pulling the strip away a sec to soon? Congrats on that 49 and reducie

Try putting the blood drop on your fingernail first and test from that.

PMPS was a bit of a bounce up to 148 although I am stretching it calling it a bounce since her PMPS 6 days ago was 143. And she is nocely in the greens at +4 with 87, We took the reduction to 0.5 tonight

@Doodles & Karen and @carfurby, I do use my nail (at your suggestion some time ago, so thank you , Carla) and I get plenty of blood, Karen, and the beep occurs before I remove the strip from the blood. It is just so weird that it suddenly is a problem!

Maybe you need a new--or different--meter? Maybe you need to change the battery in your meter? We use the Arkray Glucocard 01 (and Arkray Glucocard Sensor 01 plus strips). They sip up the blood very quickly and you only need a tiny drop.
