Yesterday’s Condo for Oliver

OK it's not his best of amps but he's acting a bit more lively this morn if that's possible around 5am. He's a hungry boy today and quite pushy too. LB action last nite was firm, but very early this am, it was quite loose but not quite runny; I don't know what's up with him. I think I am going to stick to just one food for a few weeks and see if we can get some consistency in the poop dept. I know he hates anything salmon or with salmon, but maybe he has issues with other fishy foods. We'll see how that goes.

He is drinking lots more water, at least yesterday saw a big bowl of water disappear and LB had some BIG puddles which made for testing easier - still no ketones, so that's a good relief. With his high numbers, it's a worry.

This cycle is 4 on dose 4.5u; we will be increasing, but if he can show me some yellows, maybe we can stick to a .25u increase. Hopefully he reads this and gets the hint.

Re: 4/16 Oliver +8~306 amps 337

just caught up on your poop response.

If the poops are solid, not loose, liquid or really super duper hard - then this is a GOOD thing.

Maui has IBD and I found that changing flavors frequently at first could upset her tummy and cause the poop patrol to come out. So, I tried to stick with mainly poultry flavors. More recently, I started incorporating other flavors and homemade raw and so far so good - she's handling it well.

I'm working on coming up with the proper 3 course buffet - I think we're close -

1 can FF or Friskies with 1 spoon of raw
1/2 can Nature's logic
2 spoons of raw

I rarely see anyone drink water anymore. Occasionally Sydney will drink, but that's it. Maui used to be a water fiend and couldn't ever get enough. Now, with the water added food and food, I haven't seen her take a drink in months.

You know your cats and what they need and are doing an excellent job with them.

Hilary,
I am going to go with just plain fresh chicken - he LOVES LOVES LOVES fresh steamed chicken cubes - a ff / friskies turkey&giblet or plain chicken dinners. See how that goes for a week with no changes. The runny was just in his first few days or so, and that's when I gave him the cans that came with him and then tried a bunch of varieties I had to see what he liked. He has really not liked salmon of any brand all along, so salmon will be out for sure.

Sienne,
I just woke to take +3 and feel horrible; how can he go from 18.7 amps to a +3 of 21.7?
This is cycle 4 and I had high hopes from that almost yellow, but it looks like nothing. When's this guy's nadir? At +9 or something?

I had forgotten all the false hopes and pooped on progress and vagueness of just starting and not being settled.

And to make things worse, he's got no buddy and I am sure he did before. He tries to reach out with his huge front paw to hook Booboo in and do some wrastlin' or something, but she squirms away. She just wants to stare at him, and sniff his nose and bum, but don't DARE touch her! He looks at me like HUH? I give him lots more attention as Shadoe and Booboo have each other.

Anyways, I need to go out and stock up with foods and get us a Furminator.
If someone can just suggest what times are the best to take on this weekend's curves so we can figure out what's up with Oliver's crazy numbers pattern, let me know. I am getting tired of not seeing 'it', so every 2 hours is my plan.

First stop this morn is at the vets' to arrange a visit for initial how-do-you-do and overall checkup. He is not pleased with having his right side touched much, and he shakes his head at times, as if something's in his ear or it's just itchy. They look clean but who knows what's inside the canal. It's not a big thing and he doesn't do the back leg scratch, but still the other two don't do it, so ...

He's lying in the kitchen doorway; that's my sign to get up and give him foods.

Just wondering, how late are some nadirs?? I find it hard to believe that he went lower after +3 and then be heading up already.

Ah well, he's fine and eating like a horse, and btw, I never have any left over cat foods - Oliver licks all the bowls clean.

Oh yeah, he LOVES catnip. I got some fresh at petsmart, put a small pile on his tree lower level, and he proceeded to slowly lap it all up, then lie down as if it had just been ordinary foods.
He's gone into the bedroom, I guess to nap now. I'll see what his pmps is, and figure I should try a .5u increase on the weekend so I can watch him closely. These pinks are just no good.

What a puzzling boy your Oliver is Gayle.
He is also still probably adjusting to being with a mommy that is as doting
as yours is.
So you think Oliver is missing a friend?
At least you have the up he dosing ladder experience so this does not
totally freak you out. :-D

As for raw, I think I should go that way with Oliver cuz talk about filling the LB!!! He's the king of dumpers, and must be part dog!

Nah...if he were part dog, he might eat what he puts in the litterbox and I KNOW Oliver wouldn't dream of doing that!

(Yeah, I'm being gross, but it's cause my drooler has been throwing up all week. About 1/2 the time, I clean it up and the other 1/2 I just see the wet spot, so you know what she did with it. Then, when I took her to the vet, their first question was if she might be getting into the litterbox! So, I have gross dog things on my mind).

Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades; I can't remember where I heard that, so no yellow and we went with .5u increase.

On the upside, that furminator deshedding tool is awesome! And Oliver loves it. It almost seems like he's been brushed with this or a similar tool before because he seems to move himself to put spots to brush available. He even put his back leg up to have it brushed.
We did only one side but we'll do more tonite.

I tried it on Shadoe and even Booboo, and they BOTH like it! Neither are big shedders, but we did get some underhairs and it must feel good somehow or why would all 3 like it so much?
