Stu woke us up 1/2 hour early this morning, pounding, pounding on the doors. We ignored him. Then, when I went down to the kitchen I discovered that his "Automat" was between trays and that he couldn't get either of last night's snacks. No wonder he was so insistent. Since things "go in 3s" and since this was my third equipment failure (first the test strip, then the meter, now the feeder), I hope that all will go smoothly from here on out! All three devices seem to be working this morning!!
Mr. Cat has his face pressed to the outside door, waiting to go out. Yesterday afternoon he played and romped outside while DH and I did some garden clean-up. All is well in his world. His numbers are running a bit high, but the curves have been shallow. Sienne suggests I give him a little more juice to bring the whole range down. So this morning I shot a fat 1.50. I hope that's what she meant, rather than going back up to 1.75 (the dose that dropped him into the 20s).

I think you could have gone either way with the dose -- either fattening or increasing to 1.75. It sounds like you're more comfortable with fattening. Let's see how it goes.

Did you think to change the battery in your meter? Sometimes it's the battery, not the meter and most don't give a low battery warning.

I hope Stu likes the fat dose!!

Het Stu, You get to go OUT??? Bou, my mom won't let me go out any more since i started breaking curfew. I looooved sleeping under the bushes and chasing lizards. Mom didn' seem to like the ones I brought her though. confused_cat

Our beans don't let us go out either. We lived in a house one time that had a door that automagically opened all by itself sometimes and we'd sneak out. Mom would get SO SCARED and it made us SO SCARED that we stopped doing it. There must be something Very Bad out there if it scares our mombean, cuz not much scares her. We'd hide in the bushes and we could hear her talking (to herself?) saying things like "there's not even a badword fence" and "badword cars could run over them in a split second badword badword badword" and "daddy better fix that badword door or there will be badword to pay"

Then we moved to my auntie's house and she didn't let us out and then we went to the other end of the world (someplace called Germany where people talk funny) and outside ground was too far away from our windows and outside-the-front-door sounded scary and echoy so we didn't even try.

This house has a nice outside but mom says the street where the cars drive is too close even with a fence because cats move too fast, except me but she says it's not fair to let me out and not let the others out. That's ok. I can see outside from the windows and the beans open them up so we can hear outside too. Cars are scary but they aren't in the house so I'll stay in the house and not be scared. I can hear them from the windows and they are loud. I hate to ride in them too. The drooler likes it, he gets stupid when she says "go for a car ride?" I think he's always stupid though.

Hehe, I love the visual of Stu pounding on the door. :lol: They sure know how to get out attention, don't they?
I hope your day goes as you want it, even slight dose changing can be nerve-wracking. :smile:

Look at Stu go. He must like that fatter dose. Keep going Stu! And glad that he knows how to deal with the outside world, unlike some kitties.

Marvie... lol! I'm going to start saying "badword" from now on!

Yay look at Stu he is greeen!!!!! Poor guy, he must have been soooooo mad with the feeder malfunction! I picture the pounding on the door and laugh at the thoughT!!! Have a great day guys!!!

Stu pounds on doors all the time. It's one of his things. That's why we didn't respond this morning when there was a legitimate reason for his pounding!! We have told him what the consequences might be if he insists on crying "wolf". So, no food is one of the consequences!!
We are almost at PMPS and so far today Stu has had good numbers. He probably surfed in green from +4 until almost +9. Some friends dropped in this afternoon with their cockatiel. In the past Stu has pretty much ignored this bird, or gazed at her from a distance because he knows they love her. Today he took a real cat-like interest in her!! She had to go back into her cage! They remarked on how much better he looked and acted. I told them that it was all because of the wonderful people on this board and the excellent advice and support we have been getting.

I'll post PMPS number soon. I hope it won't be too high!!

Ella and Stu (who is getting his ingredients together for an evening of cooking for Max's party. He's planning a "Canadian" menu. More on this later!)

looks like that little phat agreed with Stu today! PMPS could have been a little lower, but that's ok!!

I'm glad Stu got a chance to play outside yesterday....did he get a chance to do so today???

hope the dishes come out great...we're licking our lips & paws in anticipation.

Looks like the fat dose was just about right. These are comfortable numbers..too much drama w/ the 20's.

Glad that fat helped so much....But the pounding! You could hurt your little shoulder that way! cat(2)_steam

Well Stu, the only Canadian foods we can think of are poutine (fries and gravy not very FD safe, so that only leaves the cheese part!) and naniamo bars (ALL SUGAR!).
