For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... OH! forget it... no tuna mochas. BLECH!
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. We did well here! We made 73 here, under blue sunny skies. What a great day weather wise - just gorgeous out there, it was so nice to be out without a coat. SWEET! Today will be a little cooler, and back to the rains later in the day. so.... out yesterday was a must. Too nice not too. I decided early on that a road trip was in order. The hiking urge is beginning to make itself known! I will be elated when the mountain trails open again, I can hardly wait. We have a few more months for that, but it is nice to be able to get out to the lower elevation things now. Here's what I wrote about the day yesterday in last night's post: "Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. We did well today. It has been a very busy one, but ever so fun. Weather has held all day. We made 73 today, under what I am guessing were mostly sunny skies. uh.... guess cuz I wasn't home! ;-) It felt even warmer over in Leavenworth, though reported high was 67. I have no complaints. It was sunny when I got there, clouded up when I headed to Peshastin. The Views from the Road, and getting over the mountains and through Stevens Pass was gorgeous,. All those snow covered mountains under sunny skies. Downright awesome.
I decided to head to Leavenworth, just cuz.... didn't want to deal with I90 and Snoqualmie Pass and some really intense construction there, and Leavenworth had a great weather report. So..... I visited a Wenatchee River hike, in Tumwater Canyon. it's short, easy, but with really nice views. I really enjoyed that. Went down and did the Peshastin Pinnacles, just 9 miles outside of Leavenworth, if only becasue I have never hiked them before. Wow, that was good. Another short one, moderate elevation gain, cool rock formations, and nice views too. I had thought of going to Saddle Rock in Wenatchee, but that would have added 3 hours to the day, so decided to back track along HWY 2, visit Alpine Falls, and see if the road to Beckler River was snow free. Two weeks ago it wasn't. Today it was. YAHOO! Nicolas will be happy to hear it, he was asking the other day. Beckler is one of the first rivers I ever took him too, and he does have a fondness for it. Anyways - it has been a very good day, on the road, but out too, I liked all I visited and spent time with. On the way home I couldn't help but visit Zeke's Drive-In, a local place frequented by the hiking community, and others too, as it has the best burgers! Left at 7AM, back home at 5PM. Phew!!! Longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg Day! "

The kitties were good kitties yesterday, even Lola, for the most part...Lola will always be Lola. It was nice enough yesterday that Elsa made a few trips outside once I was home. It was so cool to see the old gal sunbathing on the deck railing, walking in the grass, just enjoying being outdoors. Everytime I watch her do that it reminds me of Mannie. It does every time I let her out... He loved that backyard. Funny, Elsa continues to take over some of his "paths". That is kinda cool. She spent alot of time on the railing, face up to the sun. Really a nice time for her. And she didn't want to come in! I was home on time too from my road trip, so the kitties weren't waiting, prancing and giving me that "you're late" look.... Instead I got the 'hey - you're home, can we eat now?" look. Good kitties! All was well when I got home too, nothing had been Lola-ized. Bug was affectionate beyond affectionate so we had alot of pets and scritches. Nice time last night with the kitties. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Have a great day everyone. It is a "catch-up" day for me - since I haven't really done alot in the past three days. Some things got done, a lot did not... Cleaning for sure, and maybe some yard work. There is lots to do here, so the day shall not be wasted, ;-)
