Not much to report today except Jenks frustrated other human's attempt to test his blood this morning. Otherwise, it's mellow yellow.

Re: 4/15 Jenks AMPS fail +6 245

looks like the last time he was at 2.5 he went down into the 30's - i hope he doesn't do that this time. looks like he's pretty yellow since you've increased.

anything we can suggest to help with the amps? is he doing something in particular, or is the ear just not bleeding? there is a wealth of info on testing tips, so if you need help with some aspect just say so and we might be able to suggest something.

Yeah, the last time we were at 2.5U it seems like results became apparent right away, with 5 very good days before be went too low. Maybe it hasn't been long enough to kick in, but I'm not seeing the same effect this time around. In fact, his PM numbers today are confusingly elevated.

As for his morning behavior, I think he is just being a pill because he can get away with it. I started other human off with testing on his rear pads because they're an easy enough target to start getting comfortable with the process before graduating to ear testing. So he'll scoot around, or kick with his other foot and smear a hard-earned bead of blood, get up and run away, or get aggravated by his civvies when they come sniffing around for the treats that are meant for him. Eventually, after 30 minutes or so of this, other human is exhausted and frustrated and admits defeat. So the goal for today is to isolate him from those distractions as test time approaches by putting him in a separate room to see if it calms him down from being so feisty.

One other trick is to scrape the bead of blood onto your fingernail and test from that.

Aside from the missing AMPS, it looks to me like Jenks is ready for a dose increase. What do you think about increasing his dose to 2.75u?

Excellent tip! I'll make sure to pass that along. Thank you!

I have to admit to some trepidation about going to 2.75U after he went into the 30s on 2.5U just two weeks ago.

Is there any explanation why a cat can go so low on the same dose that now doesn't seem to budge him below 200?
