Yesterday's post

I thought him not needing ondansetron yesterday morning was a sign of improvement, but this morning was a really tough one. He wouldn't eat anything and refused the pill pocket again so I had to pill him. About an hour later I found that he had spit out the pill somehow, so had to repill him and ended up getting a few claw punctures
It eventually kicked in, but wasn't until almost +2 so I was a bit panicked. I gave him a good bit of medium carb today and he then started to eat some of his regular food once it kicked in, ending the AM at about 65% of target. He was extremely affectionate and just wanted to be petted all morning.

I called the vet to see if we should come in for a reassessment/ultrasound and am waiting to hear back. It's so hard for me to not overreact and panic when things like this happens. I need to work on that for my own health, its been really hard on me these past few weeks

I'm glad you got the pill into him but so sorry he got so upset and you got hurt
It's so hard when they get so upset.

It's so hard not to overreact and panic, we feel so out of control and unsure when this happens. I feel the same, Albert.

I appreciate it It helps knowing im not the only one. The morning's have been the worst for me, waking up not knowing what's going to happen/how it'll affect my work day.

The vet receptionist called back saying they would like to do the ultrasound but mentioned fasting the night before and giving his insulin/feeding him there. I pushed back and she said she would talk with his regular vet tomorrow morning when she is back in the office. I think getting the ultrasound will help clear my mind a bit (hopefully).
