yesterday's condo

Nova is.. as far as I know.. same ol same ol.. being her LOVELY flatcat green self.. prob going to see some blue for the next few days.. we've been doing short cycles for 3 days to move her shot.. and now I'll do slightly longer cycles to get her shot time back to some sane hour.. how much can I move it? I know it's not "dangerous" to move it later..but I don't want to mess her up too bad either..

Jerry is home and fine now.. we made it through 4 hours of fun filled adventures at the vet.. we had some rough spots in there.. but we didn't actually have to give oxygen once!!! He was very angry, scared and upset.. but he's a real trooper.. his heart isn't too bad (considering).. his ultrasound results are worse than the last one 6 months ago.. but not too much and they still don't classify him as being IN heart failure.. just dancing beside the line ;).

Xrays were alright.. lungs don't look fantastic.. but look ok.. ekg was great.. arrythmia hasn't returned and he was only 185bpm!!! craziness! did a geriatric blood panel.. will be a few days for the results..

So we upped his asthma medication.. hopefully more of that helps him out.. if it doesn't work, then we'll explore some even more dangerous for a heart disease cat, asthma medications.. yeehaw :).

The best part was the bill.. it was juuuuust under 4 figures.. the price of his primary heart medication went up some (made at a human pharmacy).. his medications alone are $7-$8 a day now.. it's getting kind of insane..FD is SO CHEAP :).

Ah well.. worth every penny.

Hi Dawn
I read your post in the car earlier but didn't get a chance to post.
I am glad that teh vet visit went well for Jerry today and I hope he continues to do well.
Very nice numbers for Nova too. Was se a good girl at the vet?

So glad to see Jerry's visit went well. Poor guy, all that stuff is scary enough when you're a bean but it must be terrible for a kitty. Bet he's glad to be home with you now and able to relax.

Nova seems to have had a nice green day too! What a good girl not to stress out her mamabean today.

Glad to hear that Jerry's doing OK and that he didn't quite break the bank! Give the guy a scritch for us.

Ella

Hi Nova, I want you to save some room on your dance card for me at Max's party. OK??

Re: 4/14 - Nova - AMPS=95, +5=86

Yeah the bill was much lower than it should be.. they never charge me for everything they should.. especially with Jerry.. but they've got soft spots for all my kitties :).. today I was just too exhausted to argue about it, not that it's ever successful..

I'm happy his heart is doing ok.. at the same time I want some "reason" why he's slowing down so much.. he's always had a wack left ventrical.. but for whatever (very lucky) reason his mitrial valve function has stayed pretty constant.. but there's starting to be an increase in regurgitation .. but they don't think it's enough to explain the changes I've seen.. I dunno.. hopefully the increase in asthma meds help.. or the full blood panel shows something fixable.. what can ya do, except love him to pieces.. he actually forgave me pretty soon after we got home.. came and gave me a big hug and talked to me for a while (he's not a talker).. not sure how he does it.. hours of me helping pin him down while he screamed and cried.. and he's so quick to be like 'its ok mommy.. I love you'.

Really glad Nova has taken care of herself today.. feel bad I haven't tested her much and her meals have been all wack.. was just so exhausted physically (he's a tough little bigger to hold still, even with 2 other people helping me haha) and emotionally.. so I took a nap when I got home..feel like I could sleep for 3 days..

Her doctor and I did talk about her a fair bit though.. they are waiting for cornell university in new york to call back .. see if they've done c-peptide tests on cats and what they feel the value is in the results..

Re: 4/14 - Nova - AMPS=95, +5=86, PMPS=106, +2=94

Ugh I'm so tired.. Jerry had a rotten time at the vet.. but I almost wonder if it was worse on me hahaha..

Moving shot times around like crazy and mixing up Jerrys medication schedule (which is now not in sync with Nova's.. so feels like I'm just medicating cats all the time).. I can't keep anything straight.. Nova's 94 was at +2.. not +3.. hoping she doesn't do some +3 crazy..so I can go curl up on the couch and spend the rest of the night telling my cats how much I love them :).

Going to move her AM shot 30 mins late.. and then stay there.. (1 hour earlier than the time it was before the shuffle..) and then try to move Jerry and Hitch's med times back in sync with it.. so that I can start feeding them all at the same time again (what a clown show that is.. blarg).. brain = jello.
