Yesterday's Condo

Good morning everyone.
We are chewing extra hard here. I was a bit surprised to see the 93, seemed on the
higher side forf Max. I know there has been a lot of talk about the beef FF so
I have reduced the amount he eats, just to be on the safe side.
So last night DH prepared the feeder and sure enough when I went to check the
empty can, it was beef all night. I am wondering if that is the reason for the higher #.

Max was very happy today and was waiting for me in the kitchen.
Off he went to his testing chair and what a surprise, he came back into
the kitchen for his breffis.
He did not finish all of it and off he went to his bed for his morning nap.
Oh the life of a cat.

Come on! Look back and pick a brand/flavor that he liked and got some good numbers.

I like that "chewing extra hard" thing. That's what we do A LOT over in my condo! Whatever. It's all good.

Anyway...keep on chewing Max!! Spot put on his zippy pants this morning to make sure they fit (he gained 1/2 lb!) so he is ready for your party!!

Max is being a showoff again today.
Sorry guys, I guess he has plans to leave for the falls with one heck of a bang.
Wants to make sure his friends don't forget him.

I know that Max still has some more surprises for tomorrow though.

Wow Max, you're showing off! Anyway, sleep with your mamabean every once in a while, okay? She needs to know you still love her, even with all the pokes. And dude, the pokes were for your benefit (she doesn't like them any more than you do)! It's been a LONG time since I've felt this good, and I'm sure it has something to do with all the pokes my beans keep giving me...but they keep telling me that we can stop them soon. I just have to get some of that gum stuff--but I don't want any of that already chewed stuff that BigMac is showing off. I want some fresh stuff. Any flavors you recommend?

Well he is not on insulin so I don;t think he can go hypo and I di not think of it.
He probably had his snack at the same time so I imgaine he will be fine.

I think he is going for shock value. Mad Max returns.

I think if you recall Libby's instructions about an OTJ trial she mentions that if the numbers are higher than expected, feed and retest in approx. 3 hours to see if the numbers come back down. Ostensibly, the pancreas should produce endogenous insulin and pull BG back into the normal range.

I don't think there is really a "nadir" in the sense of what we see when dosing insulin. When providing exogenous insulin, the drug has a particular half life/lifespan. That's it's mechanism of action so you expect to see an onset, nadir, and decline in effect. With a healthy pancreas, you get insulin release in response to elevated BG and depending on what the carb/sugar content of the food is there will either be a big drop in BG levels (like if you eat something very sweet) or a more gradual decline resulting from protein or LC food. Small amounts of food throughout the day will keep the pancreas working at a gentle rate and keep BG at an even level vs. 2 really big meals that will make a newly healed pancreas work very hard.

Shock value - yes, I agree! I guess Max likes to be low. Wild, huh? And no insulin. I'd say his pancreas is healed.

Can't wait to see the video. I know I'll cry. I think the thing that make me cry is when you hear the cheer. It just gets me every time. I just re-watched Smokey's and I got a little misty again.

Not to anitinjx myself but I have been working on tomorrow's condo (it's a surprise) all week.
No wonder I don't get any work done at the office. Oh well.

I just hope Max will be awake for the party.
OMG all he does is sleep. I actually do not understand this.
He is liable to get bed sores soon.

Well it was funny when this afternoon when I saw that DPS got an extra test in
on Max at +7 cuz he was so low at +4.
I thought it was really nice that she was worried he would drop so when I got home
I thanked her and told her he was not going to go hypo without insulin.
Still hard to train the brain. :-D
 
What great numbers today, Max. TALK about a working 'P'. Just gorgeous. Randi, this helps to see that those 90's, which right now can be scary, are just a moment in time and don't tell the whole story. Seeing this helps me feel better about catching a number that may feel high..and not stressing over it so much. This is Max, all on his own. Talk about some pancreatic action...Wowsers.
