4/14/11 AMPS Dosing help

[Mandy and Bradley]

Bradley's looking pretty good. Didn't do insulin all day yesterday and did .25 for his PM shot last night since he was 229.

Now, this AM, he is at 203. .25 again? (He ate wet food exactly 2 hours before I tested him.)

Hmmm...maybe try .25u again and try to get a spot check in today to see how low he goes on that dose.

I don't know....Should I do a skinny .25? I'm not sure. I don't want him to get too low where I can't shoot him in the PM.

I actually just restested one half hour from my original post above and it is now 208. I just wanted to see how it was moving, so it is moving up slowly. I think I may try a skinny .25. I hope that's not too much. I'll keep an eye on him.

That should be fine, Mandy. A few spot tests will be good. Remember that 20% variance when you see numbers in the same range - they are basically the same number so he is holding steady. Looking good!

208 is a pretty good AMPS on the .25u last night. I think it was a good call to go with it again and see how he does. Wishing good #'s for Bradley today.
