Good evening LL. Talked t o the vet today, and she said no insulin untill she sees her on Tues.

Not sure if it's an OTJ trial, but it seems that way. She wants to check her out, and go over logs.

Still have to stick her twice a day of course, and if she spikes call her.

I think this is great news

I'll check in tomorrow am with ambg

Karisa

p.s. she's eating better tonight

Karisa,

The protocol here is to take reductions as earned and keep the kitty on insulin as long as possible before attempting an OTJ trial. Providing support as long as possible gives the best chance of a strong remission by giving the pancreas maximum time to heal before it has to take over the whole job. Some kitties do go from doses above 0.1u to OTJ, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

I would take my time and aim for a strong remission....but Tasha is not my kitty and it's your choice to make, not mine.

Karisa:

I think it was wise to not shoot tonight since you don't have the data but I'm with Laurie.....you don't want a failed OTJ trial; if you have to put her back on insulin, you have to refill the shed. But you hold the syringe and it is your decision. We offer support and help regardless :-D
