The hummingbirds are busy at the feeder hanging outside the kitchen window. In between calls for more food there is lots of chittering from Neko so I know when they are around. Neko is still getting used to the idea of breaking breakfast into several smaller meals so thinks she is owed more food NOW.
Needless to say, lots of CPC from Neko. She takes care of her own dish and any Theo might have left. Fortunately it was lamb today and quickly polished off, so I didn't have to guard Theo while he was eating. He is slower at eating poultry meals and Neko will be in pushing him away if I'm not on guard. It's one of the tasks I have to do between preshot and shoot. Instead of test, feed, shoot, it is more like test, feed, guard Theo's dish from Neko, then shoot. There is no way I would inject Neko while she is eating. She growls if you get close to her while she is eating and I would fear for my fingers! You should hear her sounds when I give her a piece of chicken neck - sort of a combo of growl, num num and crunch of the bones. Fortunately food disappears quickly and she doesn't seem to notice the needles that come after.
