...in which we moved to a dose of .1 (as measured by highly scientific guesswork). Thanks to everyone who helped me figure this dose out yesterday, and generally cheered us on! :YMHUG:

This morning, I measured the previous dose, then put the stopper right to the outside of the zero line. A fat drop fell out and down the needle. I think that's a good compromise.

How exciting is that? Still a committment, but how encouraging it is only taking that micro amount & look at that AMPS #!!

Kitty had a bad scrape a couple of months ago. Now he has opened up a cut behind his OTHER ear. DANG! cat(2)_steam

I had put AB cream on it for two days, but he has scratched and opened it -- a slightly bloody scrape/patch. Have cleaned it with sterile saline and put more ointment on it. Also clipped his toenails, though I don't do as good a job as the vet.

Maybe we should clean his ears with that liquid stuff tonight...? His timing couldn't be worse. :roll:

Congratulations on that dose!

Does Kitty scratch himself itching? Talbot has some small bloody spots on his temple from scratching a little to exuberantly.

awww poor kitty ... twix has small knicks on her "bald patches" in front of her ears from scratching. We would never dare try to clip her nails!

Poor Kitty!!! Tell him to stop doing it cause I said so! :lol: I'm sure that will work. :lol:

Those AMPS are awfully nice even with a scrape!

Do you have any Tressaderm? It's specifically for skin lesions.I use that on Jackson's acne and i'm using it on his cyst now.

Do you have any Tressaderm? It's specifically for skin lesions.I use that on Jackson's acne and i'm using it on his cyst now.

ETA: I always clean open wounds with warm water and Nolvasan surgical cleanser..smells great!

If he's scratching it.. you can try threatening the dreaded cone.. and then as a last resort.. actually use it.

Where do I get Nolvasan? I just used sterile saline. And where do I get Tressaderm?

I would HATE to have to take him to the vet, these three weeks out of ALL three weeks.

Does the ear stuff have a steroid?

Right on Kitty...! You are a micro-drip away form (anti-jinx, anti-jinx) ..it's fumes from here.

Melinda, by the way, yes, I think he's scratching himself because his ears itch. We clean his ears, but we haven't used the real liquid deep cleaning for awhile.

He gets those patches in front of his ears too. :roll:

You would need to get Tresaderm and Nolvasan from the vet but you could call and see if he'd give them to you without bringing Kitty?

I believe tresaderm is a steroid product. So you may not want to use this.

Continue the medication and talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to the animal.

What other drugs will affect Tresaderm: Before using Tresaderm, tell your veterinarian if your pet is using other antibiotic, antifungal or corticosteroid medications either topically or by mouth. Talk to the veterinarian or pharmacist before giving any prescription or over the counter medicines.
