Willie continues to surprise me with the numbers... was expecting much higher after that 153 @ +3 earlier today!

Monday nights are always fun... Willie's just spent two days having me around, and then I take off all day to tbp! He didn't eat a ton tonight, but rather had to tell me ALL about his day, with the cutest little whines that came out something like "Buuutttt MMMMMMOOOOOMMMMM!!!!! You aren't paying attention!!! Now LISTEN!!" :lol: :lol: :lol: Wish I could have caught it on camera, but I was running late and doing all I could to get him poked, fuds made up, and insulin prepped and shot. He's now happily curled up next to me on the sofa, enjoying the breeze. All is well in Willie's world! The bean really needs to get up and at least go for a walk. *sigh* Having a warm furry purry boy next to you makes that MUCH more difficult!

PS--- Celi, I have no idea where you found that picture, but it has cracked me up all day!!

PPS-- His spreadsheet says he was increased to 1.25, but honestly, I was having so much trouble trying to dose a fat 1.0, I think I've been probably giving him closer to 1.25, so figured I'd just make it official. It is probably a drop or so more.

And I can relate to the dose thing - I struggle with those fats and skinnys. I must have played with that darn syringe for 15 minutes trying to get what I think is a F2.5. :roll: In the meantime the kitty chorus in the background is getting louder and louder.... such an ear piercing rendition of "feed me now".

I hope you made your walk. :cool:

Well, so much for trying a higher dose to see if we could narrow Willie's curve some! LOL

Before I could get up to get out some MC, he headed over and started scarfing down the raw he's barely touched. Going to see what that does for him in the next 30. For the past several days, he's been on 1.5% or less, so we'll start with some grammy's pot pie (8%) and go from there if needed.

ETA: I so much as looked at the canned food on the floor by couch (returned from my sister whose Tortie wouldn't touch it) and he cried and danced around. So, 2 tsp. of GPP, with quite a bit of juice from the can. He scarfed it so fast he almost choked... and licked the plate clean. So much for getting him back on 100% raw... *sigh*

Okay, he's hanging out. The +2 actually involved 3 tests... 64, 46 and 49, and all tests were good, so...
51-77
37-55
40-58

So, the first number was somewhere between 51-55. Second test... 61 on the Advocate, 51 on the FS. Either way, not much of an increase. Will test in another 30 and bust out the HC if needed.

Does anybody know how many carbs are in the special kitty pouches? they have gravy, but I seem to remember one of the other brand pouches being lower than I'd expected..

Okay, it was the sophisticat pouches that have gravy but low carbs. Willie is OBSESSED with the "filet mignon flavor with shrimp in gravy." LIke, I think he might kill me in my sleep for it obsessed!! :shock: :shock: :shock: Staring at me, then the pouch, then the empty food bowl... then back at me, with a little whine. I had mixed his bowl with a fork... found him lovingly licking the fork!!!

Thus far, the gravy has had zero effect on his numbers... he's just surfing right around 50. So, I think I have a new trick... the gravy on his raw food = clean plate. I will outsmart you, Sir Wills... I will!!! Mwahahahaha!

Have been comparing the Advocate and the Freestyle Lite tonight, since I just got 100 backup strips for the FS. Advocate in the 50s, FS in the 40s. Like Marjorie, I find this disconcerting, mainly because, even at this level, the difference is enough that it might affect my dosing decisions.

I think somebody has been reading his condo today and heard his bean say she was taking him up :lol: :lol: Either that or he's telepathic...which I honestly think these cats are. Yesterday I asked Gracie to give me no more than 200 and she was 199 and later I told her "65 would be a great number" and I got 63; telepathic....

I sent the FS back today. ADW wasn't happy about taking it back but they did. Too much variation in that one. I've decided I can be a sponsor at GAA :lol: :lol: :lol: Hope you get some rest tonight.....PJ PARTY!

LOL Amen, Laurie!! After Marjorie's findings the other day, I thought I'd check since Willie's numbers were so low tonight. I just bought 100 FS strips to keep on hand for backup should the advocate (or the backup advocate!) go wonky, or if I should ever have a strip order get delayed, etc. For now, at least, we're sticking to the advocate, though, I did order the generic arkray strips to see if they would work in the relion meter.

Oh no! :o I cannot believe what I am reading with testing with three meters and owning that many meters! Marjorie is looking for someone to sponsor for the next person needing a meter intervention. I would do it, but no one quite trusts me yet with my yo yo meter reputation!

About the Sophisticat pouches, some of them are low carb. I have the FF Beef Gravy Lovers, which I have not yet used but I know several others use it. Willie sure did have a good cycle yesterday. Did you get any sleepus?
