Yesterday
Happy Monday (if there is such a thing!) Raja has 3 Ps so far today. She actually wandered up on the table again this morning...far away from Shadow and his Mama, but up on the table just the same. Shot time rolled around and she was in front of the slider so I had to pick her up for her shot, but at least was was there and not running away!
It's a great day so far!!
No one has even said one word about the carriers that are still in the computer room. I guess they just think I am being lazy and not putting them away. I hate to deceive them like this, but it is giving me some serenity during these days leading up to the dental. Friday seems so far away. I like to let them know what is happening, except in regard to anything about the vet/dental./blood work etc. I just don't tell them about that kind of stuff way ahead of time. when they are IN the carriers and we are IN the car is soon enough to tell them my sob story. It is hard being a Mama.
I throw myself at their mercy and tell them that I am only doing this for their own good...sound familiar?
Hope you guys have a great day! :YMHUG:

Mama Beans have to be as covert as CIA spies

Hope Operation Dental goes off without a hitch.

In the meantime, may you Raja and Shadow have a grand Monday

Re: 4/11 Raja AMPS=83

Kazi sees the carrier and runs and hides - wants absolutely NOTHING to do with me. Kind of breaks your heart a little bit!

Re: 4/11 Raja AMPS=83

hMmm....guess my job has my carriers in the den, in the hallway, in the living room ...all at the ready ...

and nobody knows who goes when, next, and whew...not my turn.

MudCat is by far my most difficult as she is very skittish to begin with...if she even thinks you are going to pick her up...she is gone!

Good luck with the week of preparing.... ;-)

Re: 4/11 Raja AMPS=83

So Pat, what happens when one of your kitties watches the other get shoved into the carrier? Do you have to chase down the second kitty?
That always happened here when I took both to the vet on the same day. It was awful because the first kitty would telegraph in kitty language for the other to "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

Then I'd be searching the house and under the beds, in closets, behind desks, and once up on a (fat) curtain rod that Cappi jumped onto via desk, bookshelves and jumping the last foot or so. She must have been watching "Survivor Man" and decided to put her survivor skills into action. The curtain rod was up about 10 feet. Not a good day for me. So I rearranged the furniture so she couldn't get up there anymore. Not that she didn't try...

Anyway I gave up on taking both cats to the vet at the same time. And I can't even put the carrier in the house or it will suddenly seem as if I live in a no-cat house. They magically disappear. Our house has an open plan and is kind of large so it takes forever to find them again. I can only close off a few bedrooms and they still have access to way too many hiding places.

Therefore, no carrier in the house to warn them of impending doom. I open the car door and put an open carrier in the backseat of my car and then go find a kitty. I pick him/her up and we get out to the garage where the poor unsuspecting cat is shoved unceremoniously into the carrier. Then we all suffer with moans and howls all the way to the vet. Then at the vet office I have to tip the carrier over to get the cat out. Sheesh! These big cats are STRONG and if they don't want out.... they don't come out. One time the vet tech and I took apart the carrier to get Cappi out. Too funny.

I sure hope you don't have that much trouble.

One time, the vet tech and I lifted the carrier, turnedit over on it's side in mid air and Raja didn't come out! Now, I don't know HOW she managed that...like for what seemed a half a minute, there was no cat coming out! She is a little better now since she will allow them to coax her out....they do it better than it...with a nice grab of the scruff. I leave it to them.
She has no trouble getting beck INTO the cage when the vet is finished with her...or when we come home. so, that's all I care about! It is a bloody nightmare!
When they were kittens, they warned each other and I had to move big couches to find Shadow! So, yeah, I do close the door so that at least they are confined in one room. Raja literally screams "NOOOOOOoooooo!" very distinctly as I am putting her in the carrier. It's funny but sad too!
