Testing troubles day 2:
He'd eaten before bed late last night + the overnight food left out (the one he likes anyway). late to bed, late to rise..and I walked...so rushing a little when I returned to get him tended to. He was hungry. I changed back the oatmeal to rice (for the sock)
First couple pokes, not a good sample. He's getting antsy. I try anyway but get an error message on last strip in vial. I run to grab another vial, he jumps off.
I have to put him back up and try again. 2 more pokes...this one looks like it's enough hopefully...then slow & BARELY travels up the passage looking like it stops short.. I'm expecting another error message. GET a 98! I switch ears, re-test, get a good bead, and an 81. He's DONE by now.
So which is it? 98? 81? Makes me question the reliability of some of our other readings. These 2BG's were 3 minutes apart, different ears, same cat.
look how different the #'s are.
Though hungry he wasn't much interested in the leftover evo 95% chick. he liked yesterday. I dripped some water and warmed. THEN added 4 pieces of evo dry crushed on top...NOW he likes it. This will be our fortiflora.
I am still on autopilot with this. I just feed whenever it works & or he seems hungry. Try to make sure he eats. Not sure what patterns we learned specific to Hank during our trial to take with us. I want to be sure he continues doing well and not get complacent. i will not always be home and able to feed multiple times and cater to him as I have been. What happens if he gets fewer meals or only gets fed twice a day like if I am out of town...will it be okay?
Is he doing well because of these multiple mini-meals and coaxing or spoon feeding when necessary? When/if circumstances prohibit that, will it be an issue?
NO one would come to feed him 10 times a day like I do....I was lucky before to find once a day.
I make sure he eats bites throughout the day & before bed, re-fill for overnight, warm/drip/dr.& so on. I feel like this is part of the recipe that has helped him. Anyway..not complaining as he is doing SO WELL (anti-jinx) just thoughts we are having. Trying to ready for yet another stage and understand what is working, and what if some of that has to change?
chores screaming..off for now.
