Day four of our OTJ trial. I'm worried about the slightly high 130's. That's over the norm right? What numbers am I looking for here to know if I'm going too high? I know the protocol says to aim for between 50 and 100... I'm just not remembering it clearly right now.
Other than Daniel, I'm slightly concerned about my civvie, Kass. She's not eating as much as I'd like... less than a can a day unless she's actually eating the whole half can I put down for her right before I go to sleep. It seems like Danny is getting it all. She just walks away and leaves it there. She seems happy enough, and hasn't shown any other outwad signs of a problem, though I think she may have put on some weight since Danny was Dxed. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on her.
I've also had a beautiful stray hanging around. Sweet as can be. I'm torn. I'm of course a sucker for the cute and have fed her so she will continue to hang around. She looks to be in her late kitten years. Not quite an adult yet, but not a baby either, and all black. She just ran up to me one day with pitiful mews. She appears healthy, though I'm feeding her nasty dry food for the moment. I'm thinking I should get her spayed before she goes into heat or there'll be kittens soon. But heres the catch, I'm already allergic to my two cats, and I really shouldn't take in another one. I can probably afford to get her initial fees out of the way, for the surgery and shots, but paying extra for food... I don't know. I'm having a hard time keeping my two kitties supplied, not just for the cost but keeping it stocked in a timely manner. But people already think I'm nutso for having the two I'm allergic too, plus my two don't seem very keen on the idea of a new housemate. She barged into the house this morning and I had to play catch the kitty. Mine were not enthused. I don't feel good about leaving her out of doors and she's so sweet and deserves to be somewhere where she's loved. I can do it, but I probably shouldn't take her in. But I know that black kitties aren't easily adopter either... as I said I'm torn.
That's whats going down in my corner of the world.
