Good morning,

Well, it took 2 days, but I finally got the urine sample and will be taking it to the vet this morning after her food/shot. Wanted to post now, as it will be a busy day and I won't get back until this evening. Nephew is in town and going to an afternoon concert.

I had typed up a long post yesterday, and the phone rang, laptop got accidentally shut before hitting Submit, and then life took over and I didn't make it back. House hunting, nephew arrived, daughter called from Hawaii and we talked for 2 1/2 hours! ...and I never got back to LL! ...

Tessie is doing fine this morning. She does seem to have a sore tummy when I pick her up. I'll be glad to get the ultrasound this week and find something out...

Have a wonderful Sunday home with your furbabies today!

Sandy:

A non-sterile sample won't really help to diagnose a UTI if that's what you're hoping for. The vet needs to use a needle to get a urine sample. (It's called a cytocentesis.) They then do a culture and sensitivity (C & S).

If Tessie's numbers are pretty much the same this cycle, I'd suggest increasing to 2.25u.

Hi Sienne and Ronnie,
I should have explained, she has already had one cytocentesis and c & s (about a month ago). That's how she was diagnosed with cystitis. This time, the vet wanted a urine sample just to see if there was blood or white blood cells (maybe to decide whether to start antibiotics, even though she's having tests next week). The vet called and said the urine sample didn't show any blood or white blood cells. Next week, Tessie will be getting an ultrasound (by a specialist), GI panel including the fPLI and fTLI tests (which will be sent to Texas), and another cysto & c & s.

As far as the dose increase, the vet has recommended not increasing the insulin until we get the tests done. Not sure why, but since it's only two more days, I am going to wait.

Fingers and paws crossed that all this vet stuff yields helpful answers and a clear action play for Miss Tessie Lou! Hope you guys have a good night!

Don't worry, Miss Tessie Lou! De KTSS will come after ur vetty visit an' we will takes gud care of u!! --Willie

Hi Christie, thanks! Yes, I'm a little scared of what we'll find out, but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself.

Willie, you so nice to help me feel better. I' z lucky to have such good frenz. Tessie Lou

Hi Sandy and Tessie Lou,
Keeping paws and fingers crossed that all will go well with the tests this week. We want you to feel good, Tessie Lou. Rusty is on KTSS duty this week, too, and will come with Willie to see you and help get the vetty smell off.
Have a good evening, guys,

Ella & Rusty

Paws crossed that everything will be ok with Tessie Lou, Sandy. Poor little girl. I hope there is absolutely nothing wrong.

Thanks, Ella. We've got our paws crossed, too. She just has to be alright! I just pray it's something treatable.
Rusty, thanks my friend, I'll have that awful smell on me and goo on my tummy, so I'll needz some TLC fur sure. See ya soon..Tessie Lou

Marjorie, we appreciate the good wishes. I'll be glad when it's over, poor girl. She's having those spasms again as I type this. I hope the specialist can fit her in on Tuesday. Of course, we'll have to wait on blood work for a few days, but we should get ultrasound results right away, I would think...?

Sienne, glad you agree it makes sense. I'm anxious to get this done and find out what I need to do to "fix" it. She is very special to me (I know we all feel that way about our babies).

Hi Sandy - I hope all the test will help find out if there is anything bothering Tessie Lou.I truly hope that it is nothing. I can understand how anxious you must be. Waiting is the hard part. Good luck with everything!

Mannie is also on KTSS duty, and will be joining the others. It's quite the krew that comes on these visits. :-D Anything to remove vetty smell....

Hoping Tessielou's tests come out that she is well...Glad you got a sample, you are a better woman than I--that
little Moonie can outrun me, when she hears me even come into the room where the litter box is!     Little  --Hugs and paws & fingers crossed for TL's Good Health!!
