Yesterday's Condo

Happy Catrurday LL

I still can't believe I set my alarm, on a Saturay, when I don't have to work
at 6:30 so I can test Max's blood and not give insulin.
It just goes to show how much we love our babies.

Max pulled a 65 for me last night, 3 hours after food. That made me feel a better.

I think Max has been spending the night in the office cuz as soon as I get downstairs,
out he comes.
The kitties are still insistent on the routine. Max runs to his "testing chair" and Chloe follows
in the hopes of scoring her own treats. Of course I spoil her too and she gets her own little plate while I test Max. He came back into the kitchen for his breffis, which was nice to see
and he went to his catbed and I laid on the couch and fell back asleep.
Still amazes me that it has been a week since Max had a shot.

I can't wait to tell the vets but I wont jinx myself yet.

You sound so happy =) Max is doing great! I hope he likes Bazooka better than Big R... I don't want to say yesterday's flavor since it wasn't a hit ;-)

The nipjitos are a chillin! And the tunaritas are prepared! Now all we do is wait.....and wait...and wait....gosh I hate to wait! Hurry up and get to Day 14 already!

Yup it is Sienne. You know how it goes. I try and remember Max is still a cat so not all
that predictable. I think DPS got the feed and test backwards this week.
I'll have to leave a better schedule so we can see where this countdown is going.

Yesterday, when someone mentioned I wish they made catnip flavored gum, I did a Google search for Catnip Gum and found a bunch of hits where people were asking why their cats were so attracked to spearment flavored gum and their wrappers, and the answers were mainly that catnip is also known as cat mint and the spearment flavor must be attractive to cats too, in some way.

I think all we need to do is keep Max away from the phone lines and the rest of the trial will be easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Yep, I figured Six got the idea of the times feeder next to his bed from Max, King of the Beds (even pink ones).

Randi, I just have to tell you that I have looked at Max's spreadsheet several times and everytime I go WOW! It is so amazing. I wish every newbie could see it so they could be inspired. Go Max! :RAHCAT

Why on EARTH would you wake up early on a Caturday if you don't have to shoot! If Nova was on OTJ trial (and the other kitties didn't need morning meds).. I'd sleep in until noon!

Now, We're talking, Max. THESE numbers make mamma happier. But now don't you feel better Randi...tells you his P is working & he brings himself down!

Yes, I'm thinking it's a bit nuts to set the alarm to test. You know you can stop that now, right? You can test whenever you want. We do it in the general vicinity of our 'old' time..but the great part is you don't HAVE to rush home, or get up, or if you fall asleep watching TV now, it's OK!!


Can you believe a week has gone by already? Unreal. ...and now there are 5 of us!? Wow-zers.

Max & Hank can just have a back-to-back 48-hour straight Part-ay together. Like a Cat-mitzvah! party_cat

You are so right Nina
I'm not antijinxing Max at all and not taking the risks now in switchig the routine.
I was out almost the whole day and came home to find Max on his chair.
I just caught him in the kitchen at the water fountain.
Crazy how we freak out when they get thirsty. It's like I want to count how many
licks he takes.

So here he comes back to his bed and I figure he is going to get into it and then, OMG, he
is playing with his "nanner" and cigar. He is so cute
 
Hi Randi-

Just wanted to let you know that Boomer was dx'd on November 9, 2009! Isn't it wild that they are one day apart and also both on trial? Boomer isn't giving me gorgeous numbers, but the Lantus Cops :lol: say it's okay - so we are still on.

Great job Max!
 
I understand the nervous even almost panic at times.. it's fantastic for Max that you are OCD :)...

With my cats, it's funny how involved I get with their individual illnesses.. somehow it's in my brain that those are the only things that could ever go wrong.

At Hitch's first vet check up on the way home from the shelter.. his doctor was listening to his heart and made a weird face.. I REALLY almost fainted.. lost my footing.. stumbled back into the wall.. "OH MY GOODNESS DAWN IM SO SORRY!! HIS HEART IS FINE!! I WAS THINKING OF SOMETHING ELSE I SWEAR!".. yeah.. that's what having a cat with heart disease does to you :).
