4/10 Marley AMPS 320, PMPS 228, +3 248

Ok I think I have muddled you trying to talk about 2 different scenarios at a time. To keep it simple I will start with the most urgent - its going back to do some days in m old job

so the work coming up, there is no way I can leave at +2 or +3. I have to shoot and leave.

They won't want to employ me if I cant get there by 8 am which means I have to do the shot at 6am

I will not get back for the pm shot, but I will get back by +3 after the pm shot.

I cant change the shot time to earlier in order to be able to stay home til +2/+3 as then my nephew wouldnt be available for the evening shot. He needs to have finished work so 6 pm is a good time for him.

In this scenario - is the only way to keep Marley safe - to make sure I have someone there at +3 past the am shot? (possibly to say til +5 or +6 if they dont manage to get a shot? (Like what happened with my nephew the other day?

So what happened the other day was exactly this scenario.

I left just after the shot (6am)
Nephew 1 got to my house at +3. Marley would let him test and went and hid under the bed. And stayed there til +6
My nephew was making sure he got food every 30 mins, - by feeder or ny my nephew passing it to him under the bed - checking on him (that he didnt look like he was fainting and my nephew was ready to rub honey into his gums if that happened).

Then nephew 2 arrived just before pm shot and tested, injected and fed Marley.

I arrived home at +3 in the evening and tested him.

Its just the morning scenario, that cost me £45 (I oay £15 an hour as no one would be interested in doing it for less) but because my nephew in the morning wasnt able to test, I was thinking another feeder making sure he got food every half an hour would do the same job - although not be at the ready with honey to rub on guns in a seizure situation.

I really need to the this work that I hope is going to be offered to me, its not definite - my boss thinks she will need someone but she has to check budget and stuff first). So I need to find out a way to do it.

Sorry, just saw all the posts! In this scenario, I would work with a more conservative dose and not keep him at a dose that sees him drop below 50. I would reduce him to 2.25U and set up the feeder to give him food between +2 and +5 or even +6 if you can do that with the feeders. Nephew staying with him is very expensive and it's not like he can always test him.

Thank you so much for your thoughts!

So he always without doubt gets food at +1, +2, +3 and +4.

I have 2 feeders for those times for both am and pm.

So I bought the extra feeder that I would only use the days I am away. Was thinking to set it to +3.5 and +4.5, +5 and I could do +5.5. There are only 4 bowls in the feeder. The trouble is that if he doesnt eat the portion when its there, it disappears when the next one comes.

But usually he is looking for food when low, so hopefully he'd be by it.

I might just put dry snacks in this extra feeder like ox liver. I have noticed the dried liver raises bg more than other foods and keeps him balanced if having lows. And he loves it. So I might do fresh in +3.5 and 4.5 nd then dried liver in

Does that sound good?

I understand the depot effect but I would prefer to give him 2.5 at night when I will be there from +3 and 2.25 in the morning. I understand this isnt ideal but I dont feel its ideal to give him 2.25 - lesss than he needs either.

If I could pin point a couple of weeks I would work and it was only for that duration, I could see the logic in just keeping it at 2.25, but this is going to be ongoing.

I could try and have some arrangement in place, = like if his BG was below a certain amount in the morning I could ask my mum or someone to come and be with him. Or if no one was available on those days I could put some mc in some of his feeds. Does that sound viable?
