I am using Walmart's Relion syringes. Sometimes the syringes' markings are not accurate, I can tell just by eyeballing it. It's very frustrating, I feel like if I give the dose marked on the barrel, I am very often not giving him the correct dose. This happens at least every couple of days.

I know how you feel Lucy. The BD ones are not very good either. I have taken to counting drops and using the BD ruler as well. Waste several units at each shot time doing this, but it's better than nothing.

I know Lucy. I use the Relion syringes too and that is why I got the calipers. Sometimes the zero marking is almost at a 1/2 unit mark. :banghead:

A lot of us have found that the markings on syringes are not consistent. Have you ever thought about using calipers? http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/dosing-with-calipers-updated-w-videos.79851/

Or you can try finding a syringe where the zero line is where it should be and making a sample syringe with colored liquid to compare you syringe to each time. But if the plunger gets moved, it won't be accurate any more.

Yep, thought about both, lol. Think I'll try filling one with colored liquid for comparison, see how that works.

I waste a lot, too, very annoying! I also waste some trying to get air bubbles out, on occasion.
