Hello everybody. Hope beans and furbabies are doing ok.

Gordo 12 year old. I would say 18 pound tabby. He has been a very healthy cat all his life. About a month ago he started limping, I took him to the vet and she said it seemed to be arthritis and prescribed Cosequin. Two weeks ago, he started asking for food is a more forceful way and drinking a little bit more water. I checked his LB and he is not peeing in huge amounts.

I have tested his BG many times, always lower than 100. Since yesterday I have tested him several times and he has been in 200s. I'm worried.

Hi, Guys!!!!!!!!
a smooch from binks to Enana :-D

Good to see you!

What food is he eating, Natalia?

celi & binks

I would call your vet and discuss this. It may be that Gordo has an infection that's causing an elevation in his BG numbers. Bottom line, whether or not it's FD, he should be checked out by your vet.

And, good for you for being so observant and testing Gordo!

He is at that age where things start happening - diabetes, kidney issues, hyperthyroid etc. Its always good to get a complete blood work done along with thyroid panel as your geriatric baseline at this age.

I'd take him to the vet for an exam and blood work also.

Give him and Enana a big squishy hug from me.

Thank you ladies. I hope he is fine too. I will take him to the vet tomorrow.

He is acting normal, just hungrier than usual.

He eats EVO Turkey and Chicken. About 1/4 a cup twice a day.

I hope Gordo's BGs are back to normal real soon.
It's good to see you Natalia. You're a good mombean.

Hi Natalia,
It's good that you will take Gordo to the vet for the tests. Then you will know what might be elevating his bgs and will be able to act accordingly.
Glad that Enana is doing OK. We've missed you guys!

Good luck with Gordo,

Ella & Rusty
