Hi! I’m reposting this on this forum in hopes that more folks will see it.
Hi again, I have a question about a big drop in numbers.

Scout’s been on 1.5 Lantus
2x a day since 4/25/18 as his diabetes returned.

His numbers are slowly averaging out, but yesterday’s
AMPT=247, and +6.5 =103.

Today AMPT=399, +6=88.
:eek::eek:!!!
That jump really scared me.
So I fed his lunch -wet RC and put in a good measure of RC dry duck. He finished it all & is alert and a walking around the house.
I plan to retest at +2.

This is such a HUGE drop, I rescheduled the vet visit to tomorrow as this has me freaking out.

Would any of you who have been through something like this have any advice orideas you can share?
His spreadsheet is attached to thesignature (hopefully it works right).
Thank you,
Scout’s mom

Not experienced here, but the 88 is not hypo. Idjit really dropped when we weaned off dry food, good idea to retest. Let us know. Might have been a wonky strip also, or not enough blood.

That is a very large drop. But it's not unheard of. And it looks like your doing plenty of testing to keep Scout safe. You could reduce the dose just a tad to try and raise that 88, but I think with those high pre shot numbers your still going to get a big drop. Might try feeding around +3 or so and try to head off, or temper the severity of the drop. That had been suggested to me before when I was trying to get some dosing and curve issues worked out.
