Come on down from there, Rosy girl cat_pet_icon

Tks Dyana! She loves to surprise me! :o

I always think that my cats are here to teach me lessons on life. Patience is something which I never have!

Re: 3/9 Rosy say HI on AMPS

 you have a lot of company on that, helen! i think all of us learn patience in this if we didn't have it before!

at least she gets a break from testing and you get a break from monitoring for a little while. have a nice morning!

And patience is the lesson that Lantus teaches us all!!

I am afraid old dog like me cannot learn new tricks nailbite_smile ( Im born in the year of the dog too! Why is a dog keeping so many cats? )

+5 482 Wondering if the surge is caused by the NS two days ago? Or by the reduced dosage?

Re: 3/9 Rosy say HI on AMPS/ +5 482

neither one.

it's from yesterday's good numbers, helen. rosy's been in high numbers long enough that her body has decided that's where she's supposed to be. when rosy hit those nice numbers in the 100's yesterday, her liver panicked, thinking rosy was becoming hypoglycemic and it released sugars and hormones to pull her up. so now she's up!

the good thing is that her liver works! just like it's supposed to. the bad thing is that you have to wait for the liver's sugars and hormones to clear out of her body. that can take up to 3 days. the cat's body eventually gets used to the lower numbers and stops bouncing like this. we hope so, at least.

Thanks Julie!
The lab report from Rosy's last visit to the vet came back normal. Urine culture is also normal. Kidney function ok, no trace of ketone.
She has down from the black zone to the red zone in the +5.

PMPS 362 gave Rosy the 1.5u fed steamed chicken.

If I didnt check on her bg, I'd never know she had a ride, from this morning on black -> red -> purple.
Is she having a manopause? Just joking!

With that PMPS no need to get the very early tests at +1 / +2 again this cycle

Yes Serryn. Ive decided to let her rest for the night. But need to get up at 3am to give her a bit of food.
Can you help me to search for low carb canned food? Ive looked through the list in here but a lot were not selling in HK. We have mostly the gourmet type of the small canned Fancy Feast here. I managed to find the Friskies Loaf type but they had refused to eat since they want fish flavour.
We have Wellness Core but ppl here told me its a 13% carb. I may need to look into home cooking but serving 21 picky eater is not easy. Definitely no raw since we get all our food from China which Ive no confidence to serve raw.
Just heard from the Nature Best that they will discontinue the Fish dry food soon. To be replaced by chicken. This shows how terrible our seafood has been contaminated.

Do get a test before you go to bed (how long is that after you shot?) and also when you get up to feed her if you can. We don't know how Rosy bounces yet so it's possible that she comes down already tonight.

Do you have Whiskas? The loaf varieties (and only the loaf varieties) are low carb. The foods I give Vyktor are made in New Zealand and Australia and I don't think they would be available in HK. We only have the gourmet variety of FF too. That was what Vyktor ate before his diabetes, I call it canned cereal now

Hi guys .. glad to see rosy is coming down .. also glad to hear that the vetty reports came back good .. have a great weekend!
