353... I think Maggie forgot she is not on Prozinc anymore! And she'd eaten all the food by the time I got up to take +6 so that's not it. To answer questions from last night, the feeder is a microchip feeder and it doesn't have scheduling capability. I just got it so her food would be protected from the other cats and she could have it when she wanted.

Bouncers will bounce, Kelly! Just look at Teasel's SS ...

Bouncing from 145 though...
Possibly that, more than like bouncing though from the big drop from PMPS to +2 last night. Next time you see a big drop like that, I might test at +4 or earlier. She does seem to like the big drops.

Is that profile pic a picture of her on a trampoline? You really want to hind those trampolines, they love to bounce!

Lol yes! It's funny, I was thinking of staging a picture like that, and then tonight I found her on it!

PMPS 415. Let's see what tonight's +2 is. I didn't realize just a steep drop, even into not-low numbers, could trigger a bounce as well. Sheesh!

It depends on the cat (of course), but something like over 50 points an hour could trigger a bounce.

Interesting. I'm looking back at her Prozinc numbers, and I pretty much never took a +2, but I have a lot of +3s. She had some steep drops, but not this consistently. I had not been doing any midcycle testing in the last couple of months though. Does their weight influence how quickly they would react to/metabolize the insulin? She's underweight now, by about 2lbs. She started losing early this year when she stopped eating kibble and wasn't getting enough wet food to make up for it (see: yesterday's post about her new feeder!).

You know what... I take it back. I just looked again a little more closely. She did have a habit of dropping early on Prozinc too. But that was a little more expected, since it takes effect quicker, I think.

Lantus onsets around +2-3 in most cats. I suspect it's the earlier side for Maggie and that is when she drops.

Ok, I'll give her a bit. She's been checking the dish every time I get up to see if it magically got filled!

I am heading to bed now but I was going to set an alarm for +6. Her evening cycles the last two nights looked decent, just wish I knew what was going on during the day.
